We did the same install and rather than cut more frame on the passenger side we cut the top, front, and back of the crossmember CENTER and bent it apart, slid it into the cutout(same on both sides) while placing a piece of 2x4 rec tubing under the crossmember. Jacked THAT up pushing the crossmember into place. Welded the center cut top, front, and back and then added a fishplate with a cool design to hide it. The job came out super nice, clean, and TONS easier. Guess THATS why it's called FABRICATION, right?!!😎👍🏻I enjoy watching your work for a different perspective. Keep up the FABIN'!

I think the best solution is to go with the kit where you don't have to cut the frame....the customer had already purchase this kit otherwise I would never go with it... AC4 conversion may have been a cutting edge modification in the late 90s.... not now. Thanks for watching.

@@guzzifabrication3448 I have this kit and have been waiting for some good videos like this and I thank you. Would it make sense to do the baking plates after its cut out so the inside of the frame could be reinforced as well? Do you have any video for the rear installation?

I would install as may reinforcing plates as you feel comfortable with, the rear install fottage was lost in a computer crash. @@Mojoriser

It looks like a Flatout Engineering Kit. I put one on my 55 Chevy 210 car a lot more work, but I wanted it. Nice work by the way.

They may sell more thought out C4 conversion kits for other vehicles....but personally I would never buy this kit for this application. Thanks for watching.

Did a 56 f100 was easy and a 49 chev pickup apart from that you have done a Excellent job installing what you had to work with.

Nice job dealing with that cross member, I've heard this companies products weren't user friendly, I installed a TCI IFS conversion on dad's 49 Chevy , It was easier to install than this cross member.

The instructions are kind of gibberish.So I took my own measurement and set it up the way i've set up other front ends.

@russellfaulk9032 This is just my personal opinion...I.Will never install another one of these types of front ends especially from this company, There are too many better choices that require less work and work much better... Again, just my opinion. I suggest you research it on KZfaq.

What I would have done to save cutting more frame this could work it could not but I would have knocked out the rivets for that front x member and bow that frame in enough to slide the new x member/ suspension member in there.
