C4 Synth: Downloading and Creating Presets

The C4 Synth is Source Audio's modular synth in a guitar effects pedal. This video provides an overview of the basic functions of the Neuro Desktop Editor interface for the C4 Synth. It explains how to find and audition presets created by other C4 Synth owners and download them directly to the pedal itself. It also goes over how the Neuro Editor's different modules work to create custom guitar and bass synthesizer presets.

Bass players are Loving-it for the Moog-like bass sounds achieved from an electric bass. I just bought my bass & amp, but I can't wait to purchase one. 100% my next pedal purchase !!! oNe LovE from NYC

Is there an equivalent tutorial video for using the neuro app on iphone? I'm so confused by it and I don't want to have to use a computer to interface with this pedal.

Is it normal to have a High pitched tone when you have the USB connected to the pedal? Ive had this issue since i got it, Usually i just deal with it while im perusing presets on the Neuro app and disconnect after im done.

That can happen. Running computer off battery power OR plugging your pedals into the same outlet as the computer could be the reason. Also a USB Ground Isolator should do the trick if the first thing doesn’t work.

The one thing I could never perfect is the unity volume between patches……….from patch to patch they are ALWAYS uneven. Perhaps it is also something I am overlooking and a big reason I do not commonly use it live.

The C4 does have a Master Output Volume control.Obviously the density and the frequencies of each preset are going to affect the perceived output level, so you'll want to adjust and save the Output Volume individually for each preset.

It’s a challenge, but I love a compressor after it to help out. Choose lower volume gains and output values.

It would be good to make better interface for user presets with categories etc. There are so many doubled presets that were uploaded by users by mistake. Additionally, it is very annoying to search for my pedal by scrolling other several pedals every time when I start Neuro app on my phone.

Thanks for the feedback. We are working on ways to improve the filtering tools when searching for presets. There is an option to search for presets for a specific pedal and arrange them in order of popularity. You can also search for specific words in the preset's title and specific preset creators. We also suggest following preset creators that you like. How else would you like to be able to search for presets.

This pedal needs the ability to call up more than 6 of the 128 presets without midi or 3rd party switches. Do 12 presets. 12 is 1 more than the Boss sy 200, the pedal I keep seeing this compared to. When is that pedal coming out.

Neuro desktop app would definetely benefit from more user-friendly ux. Would really appreciate if SA can hire good ux and ui design team to improve the app. Now it's taking out a lot of fun because of how unintuituive and clumbersome (and not so pleasing aesthetically, but that's a smaller issue) it is. Otherwise c4 synth is a genuis device.

This video was nowhere near basic enough to help me decide to buy this. I don't want to be changed to a computer unless it's for 5 minutes to download pre-sets then unplug it.

It’s a cool pedal but calling this a “modular” synth in the box is way too misleading. The synth is quite simple and not modular at all. Just because you have a few routing options doesn’t make it modular.

Cool pedal but can’t we get away from computers and phones to make music. Sorry, not gonna buy planned obsolescence.

The pedal is amazing. But the app is freezing all the time in Mac OS X. Sometimes I try to change a preset and I experiment a big lag or even I am not able to hear any sound from the pedal. It would be great to add a new feature to Neuro to use the pedal as an audio interface and hear the sounds through the computer monitor or headphones without using an external amp nor a DAW
