Every C6 owner needs to see this. Going to do mine for sure

Just a word of warning - the little nuts that hold the two large outside screws aren't secured (you can see them at 1:35). If you aren't careful they can fall into the door panel, and then there's nothing for the screws to thread into. Luckily the switch can be friction fit back onto the door without using the screws, so you can still put everything back together reasonably well and drive the car until you get a chance to take the door panel off. The plug for the wiring harness itself can also fall in - I'd recommend tying a long piece of string around it before unplugging it so you can pull it back out in case it does.

I had my c6 in for service today and the tech wanted to replace the driver side door sensor for $160.00 I will try your cleaning procedure. This will save me some $$. thanks for this video.

Hi, thanks for the video. I didn't want to open the proverbial can of worms by removing the handle but standing outside the car fiddling with the door was getting old! The job was as simple as you demonstrated and it came apart/went back together as easily as you showed. Door now works like a charm!

Thank you kindly for this great fix. I used P320 sandpaper with the cleaner and applied the grease with a Q-tip. Worked like a charm for my '08. No more popping open the hatch to release my driver's door!

Thanks for the video. I've had my '05 Vette for over 17 years and started having this problem about 10 years ago. Started out being a minor nuisance and gradually got worth over time to the point that both driver's and passager's doors were very very hard to open. Easy fix, wish that I had done it years ago. 👍👍

I heard about cleaning the contacts a couple of years ago but never checked into it being mine were working fine on my 2006 with only 14k miles on the car but lately I noticed the driver side acting up some taking too long to open the door which I believe should be instant. I am glad You Tube popped this video in front of me this morning based on my interest. They were right on. Good job. Good video. I guess that 3M Scotchbrite pad and electrical cleaner did the trick.

Perfect! My door switches have been fussy since day 1 (I bought it when it was 3 years old) and now my passenger door switch has completely stopped working at all. I'm going to give this a try before buying a new switch, and if it works I'm going to do the driver's side, too. Thanks!

I cleaned this out, now the driver side door won't open from the inside and I have to use the emergency lever to open the door?l...What could it be and does it have anything to do with the cleaned censors?

Got a question i noticed today that sometimes my driver door glass goes up but stay outside of the weatherstrip... After 3 or 4 attempts the glass goes into the weatherstrip as it supose to be ...what can be this? Door latch? Or glass adjustment?

Replacement switches are glued in several places so it is harder to clean. You will need to take a small screw driver and work it around and break the glue to open.

I did all of thatand even bought a new and it still don't oprn
