Good job. Let me add that GM should have to pay for every headlight replacement on every single C6 they sold puls the 1200 dollars it cost in labor to actually take off and put in the new ones. What genius at GM decided to use that cheap ass plastic as a cover for the actual lights? He was fired right? Shameful!!!

I've been considering this replacement for a couple of years now. Researching the lenses/gaskets/adhesive/methods and found R. L. Sebring during that time, sadly he passed away 12/2023 and his lenses/gaskets from his design/tooling first from Taiwan then improved and from Mexico were popular on the corvette forum. He of course criticised the ones from China but not too hard to believe the criticism. His delivered price was close to $400 for this 2 lens replacement. The ebay links are showing in comparison incredibly cheap prices as low as $72.99 lenses/gaskets to $240 just for lenses...........what exactly did you buy and do you know where they came from? You installed them so apparently you inspected and approved them, yes? Thanks in advance for the post and reply.

It’s been 3 years and they’re holding up perfectly 👍 the outside gasket for the headlight to body is a little loose and doesn’t fit perfectly so maybe go with the OEM outside gasket but the lenses I linked are holding up good but this is a garage kept car all year round.

I'll sell my C6 and buy one with no headlight fog before I have to do that rediculous job! I do treat mine with uv blocker , vivid tint and always garaged so I think I'll be safe!

It looks like you replaced the lenses but could you perform the same steps and reuse the old lenses or does removing the lenses this way destroy the old ones so you cannot reuse them? My car is yellow and I think would look pretty cool with the blacked out plastic like you did. But if I were to do all this, I would add some angel eyes or LED strip lighting in there somewhere. GREAT JOB THOUGH!

Thanks for watching and I agree with you the black would look awesome on yours! So yes I replaced my lenses because they were very foggy and sun beat. If your lenses are in good shape you can reuse them, but I recommend a new pair because new ones can be made with uv protection to prevent this from happening sooner. Just remember to buy a good sealant and a good uv resistant paint to go on the lenses. This is not a job you want to re-do so be patient and be able set aside the car for 2-3 days while you’re doing this. I had Chevy dealer replace lenses on my C6 Corvette and in less than one year the clear coat is already peeling off big time. They say it's still under warranty they say they're going to repaint the clear coat on them. I don't know if that's going to work. What a mess. What should I do?

Let them try to fix them first I guess, I made sure to use a UV resistant paint and clear coat on mine but mine is also garaged so that helps a lot. It’s been a year and mine still look like the day I painted them. It’s a gratifying project if you take it on yourself just be patient with it since it does take some time.
