Holy crap, a video game review, the reason I subscribed to Ashens. Then i got lost in a rabbit hole of cross eyed "action figures" and hamburgers in a can. But please never stop reviewing random crap.

I was born in the 90s, and I remember when I was around 10, my dad had a laptop with Windows 95 and a few games on it. The one game I remember playing the hell out of on it was Chip's Challenge. Hearing Ashens sing the game's praises makes me feel all fuzzy and nostalgic.

I was watching another Ashens video and got the notification that he had just uploaded this one. This has been an excellent night.

I got this recently, after they sorted out the loading your own games situation. Apart from the dodgy joystick, I absolutely love this thing.

I first learned how to program on a Commodore 64. I am so grateful for that as I have used programming for data analysis in science and I also have programmed my own synthesizer.

Your keys are in that old coat in your closet that you only wear sometimes because it's a bit knackered but it's still comfy but only really good for when it gets slightly cold but not too windy in the pocket you usually leave buttoned but decided just this one time to go ahead and use it because, hey, that's what it's for! But then re-buttoned it and forgot all about it.

I actually really want one of these as I wasn't around for The C64 days so this would be a pretty neat thing for me.

I had the original Commodore 64 in 1984 and only used it to play Raid Over Moscow, and that awesome baseball game where you can make the 1927 Yankees play against the 1969 Mets or whichever team won the World Series for various years. It provided stats that could be printed out on the Commodore printer after the game. Those were two enjoyable games that I haven't been able to play for 35 years. I NEED to find them!

The mystery switch is a reset button, or maybe for reflashing the firmware. The board has space for an SD card slot.

I'm definitely interested in the full sized version, but the ease of use and novelty of having a brand new full sized C64 with built in games would have to out way the obvious alternative which is Emulation on your own computer. But I believe the full sized one comes with a new joystick that uses micro switches.

I played sooooo many hours of those games in my friend's cellar. We especially loved Boulder Dash, man the hours would just fly by playing that game.

Oh god save game on a c64 the holy grail. The your dinners ready switch that bloody thing off and get to the table now still haunts my nightmares.

My highschool graduation present to myself was a c-64. Used it for years. I remember typing in extremely long basic codes from commodore magazine to get the simplest of games. BUT the coolest part was when they released their GEOS operating system which emulated the Apple Desktop. I wrote a tun of college term papers on it.

The lo-res C64 intro pic was awesome.

Fairly sure the fully functioning keyboard on my GPD Win is smaller than that.. Size is a lame excuse!!

I remember "back 2 skool" or "skool daze" being re-wrirren for the PC by a friend of mine in the I.T. department, back when I was a technician at Halesowen college. It was a great remake by Richard Jordan. Top bloke, sold me my first PC in bits for a tenner, it was an Intel 486 SX50 that I overclocked to 66mhz. He gave me a drive full of Spectrum games on a 212mb IDE internal drive. At the time or had 2x 85mb drives. Being a Digital Venturis, there was no need for a fan or any cooling, just a shoddy aluminium heatsink.

No offence, Ashens, but watching you simply go over the list on the back of the box was so dead boring I skipped over half of it. A bit of gameplay footage or even screenshots would have made that much more enjoyable. If going over all of them that way would be too much (which it probably would be) maybe just talk about some of the best and worst in your opinion instead of going over every one?

When you do the intro on older things instead of saying “hello!” You should say “Its old!” That would make my day
