If only one could put the c7 z06 interior in the c6 zr1. The newer corvettes are all super heavy in comparison. I drove a c6 z06 for about a year and a half and it was like an incredibly fast go kart.

Your ZO6 looks kick ass!! I have the Z51 Stingray C7. You are right about the automatic transmission. It was a slushbucket. I put a Livernois .otorsports tune on mine, and now the automatic shifts great. It also gave me 30 more Horsepower with the cool air intake and 160 degree thermostat.

C7 Z06 is one of the best looking cars ever. I love it. C7 ZR1 looks over the top with spoiler and stuff, but this could go through as an Aston Martin DBS kinda thing or a track monster as the same time. Classy brutality? Awesome. And the color is great.

Depends on driving habits and city or highway. I drive 75% highway and I'd say I'm in the 16-18 range. When I do longer highway trips I can hit 21 in eco mode. Ironically I think the 7th gear is a bit worse in a 60-70mph highway stretch since you need to use enough gas to maintain that it never drops into V4 mode, on 6th it will a lot more. Can't complain since I didn't expect a V8 sports car to be easy on the gas anyways.

Get the auto. Manuals are fun but if you’re gonna daily it or drive it a ton get an auto. Some people LOVE driving manual and I see why, I really do. But I had many manuals and I got this same car, auto, and don’t regret it. I will say, as he says in the vid, it does have a little delay when using paddle shifters anyways. When you drive in auto though it doesn’t do that and is still fun because they are faster(stock wise). I highly advise auto but if you ever learn manual and like it get manual. It’s solely a preference thing and I hate when people say get manual and call you a bitch for getting an auto. It’s like I would say drive and learn both so you can see but if not get the auto. Either way I love the car

I had the same build, along with Flex-Fuel. Was around 708 RWHP until I started realizing that my upper pulley was adding unnecessary strain and heat to the motor. I'm picking up my car this week after porting my blower by Kong, to help alleviate that added stress from spinning the stock blower faster. After that I'm hanging it up. I'll be in the mid 700's and any more is just over kill for me. These cars can drive just fine normally at these power points. I highly recommend.

WOW! Very similar to my situation. What's funny like you I had a 370Z (Sports/Touring) before I bought my 2016 Z06 (2LZ). This wasn't my daily driver though. My car was a factory order and I also had PPF film in all of the front and hood and other places plus ceramic coating applied to the rest of the car. I also had Forgeline VX-1 wheels including many additional mods and carbon fiber upgrades. I kept the car for 5.5 years and sold it less than a year ago prior to my retirement at 62. I couldn't resist selling considering how high the used car prices were and I just wasn't driving it much. It was a beautiful car and a joy to drive. Congrats on being able to have this car at such a young age. I don't regret selling it but do miss driving it with the top off. I actually like the looks of mine better than the new C8's. I never had very many problems with mine besides routine maintenance. The side of my driver's side seat would always wear out. The Leather seats were very thin and not very good quality. One seat cover replaced under warranty. My gas tank cover also broke and could be opened but replaced under warranty. They also had to do numerous software updates to my entertainment system due to bugs and issues.

Guys, if you track your car, if you track your bike, YOU MUST CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS TO a "TRACK" ready status. That means the BREAK PADS should be track performing pads, like Eagle Claws. The rotors can't be your basic rotors. Drill holes are needed for the rotors. You MUST change the transmission fluid, the break fluid AND the radiator fluid, to a high quality fluid that's designed for the track. If you track your car on stock parts, you'll get a stock performance and a disaster waiting to happen. That includes all racing bikes, from the 600s to the 1250s. Suspension, the dap, break fluids, tires, break pads, oil, CAN'T BE STOCK.
@corruptsage9154

you're only half there, Bleeding coolant, yes. "Upgrading it" no... Infact most tracks around here require water as coolant as it doesn't cause slick spots on the track if a hose leaks. Also drilled rotors make Almost no difference to undrilled. And when I mean almost no difference I mean 3-4% increase in cooling of the rotors. You're better off running airducts to the rotors

How would you compare your ZL1 to the C7Z? Would you ever consider going back or do you prefer the ZL1?
@killian7498
@killian7498 Жыл бұрын
@@crointhevette Waow that is a very good question. So, I owned both in manual transmission. Let me first tell you, the ZL1 1LE manual transmission is one of the best you could possibly get on the market (stock car). I really precise, easy to put in gear, no grinding not a lot of strength to go from 1st to 2nd gear, and really well made. The C7 Z manual transmission is fine, but definitely not on the ZLE level. Now let's talk about handling. I never thought I would say that, but the ZL1 1LE gives you way more confidence (hot tires + warm weather) than the C7Z, especially on tight turns. The car is really well balanced and has an insane amount of grip (I had Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on both car so I can really compare). You can get big lateral G force with the ZLE, and it feels more planted than the C7Z. And don't get me wrong, the C7 Z06 is a very capable car, but the ZL1 1LE just feel more of a track/race car, it's more planted and less viscious than the Z06 (like if the Z06 had too much power/torque to really enjoy the car to its fullest). In term of inside the cabin, I can't make a choice, I like both. In terms of sound (both stock cars) I prefer the C7Z because the exhaust is closer to my ears, and I can hear it better even windows closed. Finally, after saying all good for the ZLE, I can definitely say that I would like to sell it now, and buy a C7Z 7-speed again. Why ? Just because I absolutely love the aesthetic of the car. It's such a beautiful SuperCar (yes it is one, seeing time on track it definitely is). The ZLE, even if it also makes Supercar time on the Nurburghring, it still a Camaro at the end of the day, even with all the extremely agressive front end, and nasty carbon fiber spoiler at the back. So yes I would like to own a C7 Z06 again just because I don't track my personnal cars, I am a big fan of the C7 looks, exhaust note/sound, and the possibility to remove the top whenever there it's sunny.

Does/Did your Vette make a ticking noise at low speeds when accelerating not under hard throttle but slower speeds? Mine is ticking and getting louder as rpm goes up but only under light acceleration. From what I read online it’s very common with c7’s and it’s the injectors from the direct injection engine and nothing to worry about? It doesnt sound good and sounds like somethings wrong with the car. I found the previous owner and talked to him and he said it always did it under his ownership also.

I found the perfect one colors interior and exterior and M7 and Z07 package with exact packages I want but it’s 100k. With just a couple thousand miles on it. It’s a tough pill to swallow paying almost sticker price on the car from 2017 in 2023. It’s literally the exact specs I would have bought though in 2017. Think I should go for it or wait and hope prices fall on these?
@crointhevette

Damn that’s a tough call. Personally $100k is too much, I think over time prices will definitely come down, better wait for it to drop, it’ll be had for $80k down the road.

Do you feel they are worth more today than when brand new back in 2015 or whenever? Because that is what the used market wants. If you take mileage and owner beatings into account, used car dealers are selling these for basically $100,000 today. IF it is true, it is, but that's just a truckload of trust to put into Chevrolet, who can let you down in the service category. For example, they won't sell me a new seat, or even any seat part (leather, frames), for my C6 Z06. That tightens my anal sphincter pretty hard when thinking about adding another Corvette to my driveway. Thanks.
@crointhevette
@crointhevette Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. I would say If you can snag a low mileage 3LZ for under 70-75, then yes it’s absolutely worth it. I’ve seen some Z06s with 25-30k miles and multiple owners go for 80K+ and that’s not worth it (in my opinion). A low mileage C7 Z06 for 75k is a much better bargain than the C8 used market which is easily over 100k.
@roostafish961
@roostafish961 Жыл бұрын
This happens as any car ages. Face it, a C6 is now an old car. If you take a dirt bike in to have service done and it’s more than 10 years old, they will tell you to leave. Seats can be redone. Brackets can be welded or even made from scratch. At least a Corvette is simple enough that anyone can work on it. Try getting a 2008 Mercedes SL AMG with all the funky air suspension and the three way Variable Valve Timing. Heck, you can’t even check the oil on that car.
