LS enjoys playing balance and soft peeling kind of playstyle, not by choice but because everyone likes to play hard dive comps. If we use yin and yang, LS by default chooses a balance of both, but will lean towards the yin side of drafting when required.

After years of hardwork casting and coaching he eventually got a chance to join T1 only got brought down by haters. He didn't give up and finally got recognized. Dude is literally the ultimate anime protagonist.

If you check fudge's Twitter, LS showed him the soraka vs Viktor match up in a 1v1 before the game. The thing with LS is that he backs up his theories and seemingly insane picks with gameplay.

Well he follows the same thought process and he and ls are more or less scrim partners for testing out matchups like that even before he joined c9. I think it’s actually more likely that fudge would’ve liked to make these picks on his own but wasn’t confident in his teams ability to trust in him or play around him.

It’s not even the trust which is the most impressive. It’s the lack of ego. Trust me, many good mids wouldn’t want to play this style

Fudge also trusts Blabers mechanics to carry I really like the fudge factor. Good team player

I don't see enough people talking about this play. Watching it the first time, I wondered why he was after the minion wave but it all makes sense after rewatching it a few times.

Autos on minions don't reset chakram stacks

Yeah chakram autos only refresh duration on champions and epic monsters but because he used his q with the red gun on the wave he refreshes and gains additional chakrams

He was generally very solid throughout the game. Haven't seen any of his other games but he certainly looked like a top LCS ADC in this one.

Also a thing of note, every champion but aphelios went revitalize this game, AND blaber built visage for the bonus shielding and healing to combo with soraka and his steraks. There's so much gold efficiency in the draft, rune and item choices here

What is very interesting about the game is that a lot of things went wrong for C9. From Summit and Blaber getting 2v2'd, Fudge probably should've had more CS but couldn't land Qs to stay in lane, getting a "weaker" soul and 1st Elder being stolen.

@@just_n0va I think the biggest unknown is Fudge. If he can improve his mid performance just like he did last year from spring ---> Summer in top lane then it'll cut into the weakest part of C9. The better he gets at mid , the less prio he'll give up which is important if you want games to not get too out of your control early with the opposing jungler or 2v2 making your life hell. Scaling is about brushing away aggression in the most graceful way into your win condition. The better this team is able to do that, the more of a "wall" they'll feel to other teams. We'll see repeats of those seraphine healing drafts where if you didnt kill them at 20 they just were immortal past a certain point.

@@xavierarial24 I think a lot of those things are a result of fudge not being able to boot camp in korea and the Korean part of the roster only having 3 days of scrims with blaber and fudge. The fact that they pulled out a win against a top team despite all these things bodes very well for C9 moving forward.

I mean laning phase was over for summit after that early invade they did and summit had to give up wave under tower to move, and tryndamere still wasnt able to punish him properly, then started building randuins and doing 0 damage, he also could have dove camile couple of times with stacked waves

@@denzelyee4314 Yea thats what i mean, trynda had huge lead early, and didnt really manage to push it or make anything out of it, i wasnt watching proviews of either so i cant say, but either camille played really well to stay relevant whole game, or trynda just didnt punish at all after getting a whole level lead early due to their topside being much weaker on the blue invade

He has been known for his good drafts before, but some people kept saying he doesn’t know what he is talking about, because he is not a pro or a coach in the proszene, which is not even an argument tbh. I am glad to see he came to proplay and is now able to show his power in draft. Having games which are close in gold, but are clearly outdrafted. The commentators even once said this game in would be a close game in gold, because c9 only has a 1k gold lead, which shows they didn’t consider that fudge items cost way less.

What will happen is that teams will start to index against the enchanter mid lane picks and c9 will then take the next step in adaptation

It’s really impossible to do anything if LS wants an enchanter because for instance here, soraka seraphine and sona are all still up. They’ll always be able to pivot and flex one of the enchanters anywhere which is amazing.

I've been a consistent LCS fan for several years now, and I gotta say this is really exciting to witness. This is one of the first times I've ever seen a NA team develop win conditions that are so different from the other leagues. If C9 keep up their success we might genuinely see the top regions try things like Soraka or Ivern mid... which is nuts to think of as a NA fan.

@@krejman yep, but nobody realized, how insane it is. Cho is literally broken in at least 3 roles right now. Toplane I play him tank with demonic and frostfire. You literally become the strongest ap juggernaut in the game. You can delete squishies and your lane systain is impossible to get through, if you combine it with some freezing. Cho gath silence is in my opinion one of the most busted tools ever. I’m sure it’s no secret ap cho is insane as well, the champ has a stronger tool than ori ult on a 3-4 second cooldown and unlike other mages isn’t burstable. Silence everfrost q has to be one of the most unfair combos I was ever aloud to play.

@@zz-fk4nl im not really a fan. LPL does play enchanters occasionally as well as supportive mids. This wont be surprise tech for them and at least some teams can run it over. C9 is probably not good enough mechanically and teamwork wise to stall the game to 30 minutes without giving up more than they can afford. Also can they swap roles and let blabber be on defense or support to vary the play options? Edit also syndra or assassin not viktor for blind picks. Syndra or an assassin would potentially push soraka entirely out of lane. The drafts are really abusing viktor taking so long to ramp up. He does damage but he wont solo kill you unless you fuck up.

@@MrThedumbbunny why are you talking about teamwork on week 1 of lcs. summit and berserker have no problem playing more aggro as well as having good mechanics (summit was arguably top 2 top laners in lck despite being on a bad team, berserker is trailing behind gumayusi who was a top 2 ad), only question mark is fudge, and while fudge probably wont even break into top 5 mid laners, dont really think its much of an issue since simpler champions exist. fudge just needs more scrim time and getting adjusted to mid lane, as well as expanding on his champ pool. if a jungler is good at going aggro its easier learning how to play a tank like sej etc if the situation calls for it, plus being able to hold internal scrims whenever they want really helps accelerate learning and practice.

@@vonwaq sure summit can hold up but if you take this draft into an international competition top and mid get smashed instead of just top and blabber doesnt get to play the game. Blabber with losing mid and top got every neutral objective and more than his share of camps. Fudge would certainly get smashed by a top 10 in the world mid especially if they blind syndra instead of viktor. They both have the same weaknesses but syndra spikes much earlier but isnt as good late.

It could've been a bigger issue, but luckily Berserker went ham. This game shows that even with Trynd screwing up with C9's plan and dragging his team into their own scaling the draft of LS still came out on top. Promising things for the future. I must say, I really like enabling Blaber's playstyle with enchanters. It's like doing pvp in MMOs or other games but you've got better gear than your opponent, you just plow through things and it's really good for morale.

He's keeping chakram stacks up while spending ammo to switch from red to green gun. Olaf and Camille have GA so they can buy time and soak enemy cooldowns. Turns into an easy clean up for Berserker.

It's also something LS himself preached for so long (and probably why fudge admitted this draft to be cheese) It doesn't matter if you play 3 days together or 50billion years. This draft is not playable unless the opponent makes huge mistakes. Furthermore, I really DO NOT grasp how people think LS has a gigantic brain for coming up with soraka mid. Fnatic played it ADC in season 10? multiple games, LS pushed for it, and it was unsuccesful. Not only that, the janna smite top tech came from a masters play in EU. In scrims, caps played stuff like draven mid and all kinds of random stuff. Do people really believe, in 12 years of time, LS is the only person that can come up with this? Noone tested it, scrimmed it..? There's a reason it's not played. Nonetheless, it's not meant as an attack to LS, but more towards the general league public/reddit that are drawing wrong conclusions. LS can have different reasons (maybe they can't play standard, maybe he just wants to play reactive for now.) It's fun to watch, it's exciting, but reality is; People are insanely overreacting. And for some reason the argument " they're only been together for 3 days" is made so many times (altho it holds no value as fundamentally you cannot play this unless the opponent is bad) but the argument can be made against all the INSANE overreacting aswell. I also don't understand how nearly every year the exact same thing happens in NA. Where teams are winning, due to fundamental mistakes of the opponent and people cant differentiate and think the winning team is actually insane. And then it goes internationally. The reason ppl think LS is smart is not because of one or two random picks that just so happens to be strong. It is because LS has a good understanding of the game and how pieces work together. As an example for this game: Olaf is weak unless he has someone to enchant him. Soraka mid was picked because of Olaf, not because Soraka mid itself alone is good. It is not the singular picks that shape his draft, it is how the champions all interact with each other that really draws this out. Yes, people are overreacting. But there's hope and there's a whole lot of storylines converging on C9 right now. We might see something like TPA (then turned into Flash Wolves). And that possibility is exciting for a major region that otherwise has no hope right now
