You said mustangs suck at cornering - while stock they do (with the exception of the new S550, and the Boss 302 with the S197). Stock they leave alot to be desired, but the aftermarket is amazing for mustangs. Even the Sn95 can be made to handle like its on rails. Look at what Griggs and Maximum Motorsports have been doing with the platform. Look at what Vorshlag and Steeda have done with the S197 and newer. I don't even know why you'd bring up rally racing when talking about a mustang. I know all of this will fall on deaf ears because you seem like a person that hates a car just because of who made it. That's cool though, people will continue to drive cars they enjoy like the guy in the video while you sit on the internet and feel sorry for yourself.

After reading all of the comments I this thread. I have determined some of you are idiots. Arguing over a car designed in the late 70s. Of course it wasn't a great handling car. Of course it had to be highly modified to handle good. Of course the car needed a redesign to handle well. It was designed in the 70s. But saying mustangs kill a ton of people is asinine. Every car manufacture has idiot drivers. Even idiots driving new great handling cars have accidents and die. It is the drivers. Not the car. Here in Oz there are many Ford Barras swapped into Mustangs. All Ford here, and the Barra is much better than a 2jz.

Friendly reminder that the stock supras were mediocre at best. The reasons people love them are the fast and the furious, the work modders did (likely as a result of the movie) to make big power, and rose tinted nostalgia goggles. Stock supras sounded like shit and were and are ugly. Great engine though, especially when you replace the stock turbos

Happy, this is why the long stroke 4L barra is so much better than thensquare stroke 3L 2jz. The barra has strong torque pre spool to get that spool going earlier, and a 800hp barra can have great spool response - I have one.

Shit interior? I'm sure it isn't that bad. Admittedly i've only been in one 90's-00's ford product and that was an escort, but even that was fine.

There's nothing wrong with the interior of this mustang. People just love to hate. I had a 96 in great shape and it was fine. It's comfy, everything is where you'd expect, the shifter is in a good spot and you could easily put 2 kids or small adults in the back. People act like it's a 50's pickup truck.

If that is all you are worried about, you and your girlfriend may want to see other men.

@@rhull3939 Yeah, for me, as long as it's comfy and bits are placed where you'd expect, it's good, I couldn't really care about materials and whatnot because im not laying on the dashboard or hugging the doorcard all day, so it don't really matter, the main things are seat, pedals, shifter, and wheel.

Kevin Muck it’s an underrated platform. Stock form, the 2v is a slug but being realistic. The possibility for IRS and how light the vehicle is compared to newer cars makes a really sick project.

@@Mangobrain82 The good news is that the mountings in the SN95 work with the 5.0L Coyote, so a swap like that would be far more easier to do than with the 2JZ. Probably would be much more reliable and fuel efficient as well.

Diffy, the long stroke 4L barra spools a big turbo much easier and earlier than a 2jz. There is a huge difference in throttle response between a 2jz and a barra for tbe same engine power. Here in Oz there are many Barra Mustangs - a good conversion.

@@CollateralFatality you are right lol toyota designed all their own stuff for the 2JZ, the only collaboration with another company was the head design on the FIRST 1JZ-GTE hence the Yamaha badging on the cam covers..this is after the 1JZ and 1JZ-GE which were fully designed and built by toyota but stopped with the 1JZ-FSE when they made design changes in the head and switched to aluminum..the 2JZ-GTE came out in 1991 in the aristo v300 and supra RZ turbo..the only other company who had a hand on the motor was Hitachi who helped in conjunction WITH toyota to develop the twin turbo system and that's it..the motor/head is designed and built by toyota.
