Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened on May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

What the heck. Is this a play? A dramatic performance? Or the reading if transcripts of a previous trial? Why feed Durst's ego in this way? OR the dramatic actor reader's ego! I found it distracting and perplexing. The feeling of the ridiculous became increasingly uncomfortable!

Computer terminal at library.... bull, he didnt sit where he was allocated as there would be a trail if anything nefariuos was going on . At that time people were Supercautios. Id be interested to know what the search resaults were on the other computers

This is by far the longest Lewin has had to go without making an ‘objection’. He’s probably writing it all over his notepad.

This guy's reading of Durst's part is horrendous. His cadence, his tone, it's all ridiculous. 😆 They should have suggested he watch The Jinx (and actually learn how Durst speaks) before trying to read for him. Either that, or he could have just chosen to read the transcript in a normal voice- NOT this exaggerated, obnoxious enactment that he's putting on. Ick. 😝🎬🍖

@@-jacinta- He really sounds like RD. I had no idea this was done, like theater on trials, because I'm sure this is rehearsed and memorized.

Thank you! He sounds like he THINKS he can read those pages and sound like Robert Durst... and, yes, he is attempting to speak in a "Robert Durst manner", but the actual execution of the attempt is comical. You can't just do exaggerated pauses and think you're going to be doing a passable Robert Durst impression. 😂 And what's worse is that this is Los Angeles! "Actor Capitol of the World". They literally could have gone outside and pulled a random guy off the street who most likely would be able to do a better Robert Durst than this joker. Hard Nope over here.

Because the prosecution is having all of durst’s testimony from Galveston read out loud, mostly using other people as the original people, so it has become like a table reading of script (the longest table reading).

He isn’t related to him. He is a law student reading the transcript from the galvasten trial
