Cab Ride on the Southern Pacific GS-4

4 жыл бұрынIn November, I had the huge privilege as a member of the ORHF to take a cab ride on one of the Holiday Express excursions down the Willamette River. This is definitely an experience I'll never forget, and the Southern Pacific 4449 is by far the most beautiful locomotive ever built.
This was shot 100% on my GoPro Hero8 in SuperView with raw audio. Enjoy!

Man thanks for the inside look! If lived near enough, I’d volunteer there, but I don’t. 4460 is a great substitute though! Lol.

Will the locomotive go mainline again? or has Amtrak permanently kyboshed these big engines

Honestly have no idea. It did take a trip to Bend a few years ago.

How long does it take 4449 the go from a cold boiler to four full head of steam?
