Cabbage for me and for many others you were our first channel we ever watched and our entryway into this game. Even if I occasionally disagreed with some of your thoughts about the game I always came back to your original discussions about mindset in gacha gaming and it was huge for my mental game and health. I always appreciated your insight Cabbage. I'm sad to see you go, but it's important to recognize when the good times are over, or when things aren't going to change, or when you just aren't going to get what you want. That too is part of the zen mindset when it comes to gaming, not clinging to something based on irrational hopes. Also, I think that the real "old man yells at cloud" people in the WOTV community are the ones who make unreasonable demands while simultaneously not altering how they play or spend. Besides the fact that fun PVE is not an unreasonable demand at all for a game like this, making good on your dissatisfaction and actually quitting is the opposite of the "old man yells at cloud scenario." The old man is powerless, and is just whining. You are doing the one thing that is in your power. Watching your videos was at one point part of the regular experience of the game for me. Your year long hiatus also corresponded to me pulling away from the game in a variety of ways as well, including my own several month break. Now I just treat it as a single player hero collector. I don't pull based on meta or anything, I just try to win with the units that I like. Thankfully that's usually not too difficult. Either way, I enjoy watching your pull videos even for games that I don't play, so this is not the end of Cabbage for me. :)

I made the same decision about 2 months ago. The direction the game has been going for a long time is not really conducive to my enjoyment, though I'll miss seeing where the story leads. I have quit wotv when gl adison collab dropped so its been long time ago, but wanna say regardless of specific criticism about the way you play wotv your insights on the mobile market in jp were always your most interesting content and if you continue doing more videos like I will still watch, your style in this video is also top notch, would definitely wear what you went for here lol

You literally introduced wotv to so many of us. Not only that, but your run with it outlasted most that you inspired to play. I know there is some more content coming but I can't stop the nostalgia. Looking back, we've cut quite an impressive swath through the land of Leonis, with you as our guide! Your stylish outfits, relaxed speaking tones, and zen gacha/life outlooks have woven themselves into the experience. Hearing you saying you're quitting almost feels like watching the lights turn off for the day at a fond workplace you've spent several years at--for the last few times. I keep telling my guildmates that the pressure o having to show up everyday to the game to run a pvp battle got so stale. It's very in your face. I'm glad they introduced some type of reward and proxy but there really should be a genuine break weekly and not just during maintenance. Power creep in both Truststones and now Dream Shards really send a message about how much PVP has taken center stage. I missed genuine map design where environments were interactive or a different objective (like protect Rob) was required to be met. The game was released at a time where a lot of ppl were home and had "expendable" time. Now that most of the world has resumed their routines, the game should cater to be more of a casual experience vs second job

they really missed out on the opportunity with integrating the map to the gameplay. they tried already before with those switches thingies to open doors in the story waaaaay back but suddenly... everything was back to oh another spawn oh another wave of enemies... it's not getting harder just or interesting... they are just trying to overwhelm things with sheer number of enemies instead of actual mechanics

In my opinion the problem is that they don't know how to play their own game, the "hardest" pve scenarios only have characters with improbable stats and no real equipment and are not even very difficult to beat. They try to show a tactical game but they show they don't know anything about tactics at the same time.

Hey Cabbage, sorry to hear that you're quitting WOTV. This Saturday I'll be livestreaming the JP broadcast as usual (so I won't be able to read and enjoy your blogging live), but I'll swing over and check it out -- just for old times' sake. I don't think you know this, but before I was in the #1 guild in WOTV Global and top 10 guilds for WOTV JP or regularly play top 50 Arena, there was a time when I'd watch your videos to help me navigate through the world of WOTV -- especially your series on what units were no-brainers for Lv115 or 120. But time really flies huh. To think that here, at the start of 2023, I'd be saying goodbye to WOTV Cabbage and WOTV Diggs. I look forward to what you decide to do next. Will come and check out your vids every now and again.

It's a sad day. It was a good three years though. I remember watching these videos just waiting for the game to come out in global. In fact, Christmas Macherie review was the first video I think I watched haha! I'm in the same boat really. Well designed cool units but nothing meaningful to use them in. The increased cost of the game doesn't help either.

Even though I stopped making content for this game, I still do my dailies and do the guild war. I always think about quitting myself but can't seem to just walk away. Thanks for being inspirational for me and my small journey into content creation. Take care!

I definitely agree with you. As a player of the first years of FFBE, the Trials, Espers fights, Chamber of Arms and Story Event Missions were truly amazing and enjoyable. WotV has nothing than auto things to offer and I got tired of it and quitted as well months ago. Is unfortunate that we had so much nice graphics, models, soundtracks, voice acting and overall amazing character concepts that got in nothing in terms of PvE. WotV offered some amazing PvE content at the first year. The challenge missions and two stars Esper fights were amazing. But that was all so far. :( Anyways, THANK YOU very much for all you did for our community in this game. I'm pretty sure it got so popular and kept so many players in love with it because of your charisma. I'll keep following you and seeing your new videos just because I really do enjoy your humour and personality. You're our favorite WotV boi ever. 😄

Firstly thanks for being my first WotV content creator. I left the game about a year or so ago and while I may miss what I spent...it was interesting while it had my eye. I had some issues with the game, but that aside I really enjoyed how you calmly explained things. It's important we spend time on the things we enjoy, and know when to leave things we used to enjoy. Sad to see you go. I agree with some of your points in this video. My gripe with story mode is there are really no story boss fights. I've autoed the story mode since launch and skipped the story. Theres not much to it. Why create it?

I get why you don't want to return to ffbe but Chaining is honestly so easy now and the harder content requires you to think outside the box of having to use stuff like Ice Magical only attacks or recently with a Doomtrain Boss who is phys and mag damage resistant but there was a strategy of using Evoker Units along with Espers to do raw damage as a work around, The Moral gauge system on some bosses where you have to damage that gauge before you can damage there HP bar, so lots of challenging stuff should you wish to return.

I'm thankful to you for all you've done, I'm saddened by this. I understand your decision. I don't know what I would do. I left ffbe after 4 years and thousands spent. Wotv had the community to chat with and the guild. I agree with the boss fights ideas, or story reset, etc . anyway see you on the other side.

Just out of curiosity, when quitting a game like this, do you still keep your account around to run through the story sometimes or do you drop the game completely and never look back? If that's the case, is the story not much of a pull for you overall? I always find that I can never fully quit a game because I have story FOMO most of all.

Yeah but, which game are you switching to? It's similar for me. I am waiting for Sephiroth and once I pull and max him, I'm out. Basically every content in WOTV makes me react like it's a chore, rather than something I can sink my teeth into. I used to love playing for the story, but with so little time given to every character, I can't get invested in what happens. I quit pvp long before you and the raid is not fun. The tower is too specific on which elements you need for laughably low tier rewards. It took them 2 years to change the battle music. I think we can assume with confidence they don't really have a way to save pve.

Sad to see you go (from WOTV), but that's part of life, dropping mobage's whenever the passion is gone and not much is keeping you playing. I, for one, if not for the awesome guild I'm currently in, might have quit already since been getting Gumi-power creep vibes lately and I dislike how they design "hard" PvE battles.

I still remember watching your video about the cost of the game for various levels of spending, it was the first video I ever watched about this game and convinced me I could take the plunge into seriously playing my first gacha. After that, I watched the videos you made about the JP launch and for years now haven't missed any WotV stuff you've made. You will be sorely missed, I hope you still pop in every now and again if something major comes along, and I hope you do more single-player stuff like Live Alive, Fatal Frame, and Conquests of Camelot, all of those were fun to watch. Cabbage love your stuff, i tried this game cause of you but didn't click with it. Feel like I should mention I played a lot of mobile games in the past few years and recently dropped both Arknights and punishing grey raven. Both are phenomenal games in their own right but I didn't have the bandwith for them and my other games. And my real life.
