Now it's time to build a proper cabin in the woods. I had always been attracted to country life, but something always stopped me. I was always afraid that I wouldn't make it, but I decided to give it a try.

Рома, привет! Новое лесное строение и уже совершенно другого уровня! Что получится - увидим позже! Правильно делаешь, что на гвоздях а не на саморезах! Саморезы при усадке ломаются, а гвозди гнутся и не "боятся" усадки (согнулись, и норм, даже крепче держаться будут). 👍👍👍

Я не могу подтвердить это. Я использую только винты, и ни один из них не сломался, даже спустя годы. Возможно, это также зависит от качества используемого материала.

@@FrankEMeyer От качества безусловно зависит! "Ломаются обычно черные, "каклёные", по себе знаю. А вот желтые, саморезы (не знаю из какого металла они) - реально держут. Крышу чинил 2 года назад (в 2021) все отлично держится. Но и гвозди тоже хорошо справляются со своей задачей.

if your rockwool gets wet it starts conducting cold. consider isolating it from wet/vapor from the top and aerating from the bottom. good luck)

Hi Roma. Great job so far. You should of poured concrete footing for all your blocks...over time,the blocks will sink into the ground and you'll have uneven floor. Just a suggestion, other than that..its lloking great😊

Or even dug a hole and busted up a couple cinder blocks and put those chunks in there and went off that for your base. … it just just sucks that thing is sick and will eventually just sink like you said… but forreal… I would have just used those pallets as my base and been done… coming from a stone mason here 👋🏻 lol nice job brother

Homes have been built in the arctic and sub arctic regions for more than a century over permafrost. They have to be leveled from annually to every few years. Building practices and requirements vary with regions.

If the block sinks, take a jack, lift the house a little on the side and put a wedge under it until it is level again. After all, the house is only loose on it, so that's not a problem. This is how I did it. 🤗

You impregnated the beams but not the thin plywood boards, or you did it carelessly (at least that's how it looks in the video). Over time, moisture will penetrate the plywood and make it rotten. Then the insulation is exposed and mice and insects move in. I've made that mistake before, too. 😑 But the floorboards will hold. 🤗

Sure, you can see at about the 4:30 mark. The blocks are stronger and built to have the hollow spaces vertical instead of horizontal. I didn’t have time to watch the whole video but it looks correct in the vid thumbnail.

15:52 what’s the plywood sitting on, also you should nail them down Also I hope you put a tarp or roof over that insulation before it rained. You can check square of entire floor by measuring 6 ft one wall then 8 ft another wall then measure distance between the 6-8 marks and you should get 10 feet Why did you paint/stain the first boards? I can’t see but I assume it’s anti rot protection? If you want good carpentry tips look up Larry Hahn on KZfaq.
