This how you mic a guitar cab. Use this video as reference to how certain mic placement will affect the sound.
All cabinet audio is recorded with one Shure SM57 Dynamic Microphone, placed in various positions to demonstrate the tonal differences. Gain on the microphone is constant throughout the entire video. I do add some volume in post to sort of "level" out the clips, while maintaining their tonal character.
I tried to keep this short.
Raw guitar audio only, maybe I'll do "in mix" audio at some other time.
