It's really sad that theres not much co-op puzzle games that has a storytelling to it, it's really an interesting genre and i think it's much more fun when u can discuss stuff with ur friend. Also as a big fan of pixel style games i enjoyed it a lot and the music is cheff kiss, loving it, wish we had more of this!

I was curious about this ending too and I did some digging and came across an interesting theory on one of the forums. So, because both of you saw robots on the train, that implies the robot reality was the true one, and the AI was speaking perfect truth. The grandad was a robot and was incorrectly trying to fix his family who were also robots because he didnt know. They deposited that the statue, which was a transmitter in the robot reality, was a kind of mind blocker for the robots, making them all think they were human, and conversely, think Haru was a monster. They guessed that everyone in the world was robots except for haru, so he thought they looked like his parents because he has only seen robots and as you see in the game all robots look the same. Its possible the AI wanted to eliminate humans and the robots were sentient so it needed to trick them into thinking they were monsters and there are barely any survivors. The heads and dogs on the conveyor section imply that kids, like the characters you play are just mass produced. that is why the beheading and cloning makes sense. The same dev has made other games about robot worlds before. It obviously isnt guaranteed but it does explain why you both see the robot world, it does explain the ai and the dogs, it does explain why no one haru eats dies, it also explains why the transmitter looks vastly different in the robot world where as in both simulations (animal and human) it looks the same practically. It also explains how they were able to fix things, including the old man since both different choices endings proved that worked in the human world to. Most of they why is speculation, like why the transmitter, why make humans monsters, but i think that explains and adds closure to a bunch of endings. hope you found this as fun to learn as i did

I have a suggestion, how about playing "Christmas Nights" now that it's Christmas, there is the original Sega Saturn version, but also the Remaster for PS2/PS3 and Xbox 360, maybe it's even available on Steam for PC, but you'll have to look for it by "Nights Into Dreams" because the Christmas expansion is already included in the Remastered version, we all also love Parasite Eve, the story is also on Christmas
