All cacti are flowering plants. Depending on the species, they blossom throughout the year. The duration of cactus flowering usually does not exceed several weeks. One flower can be opened from a few hours to several days. Some species of cacti can re-flow during one season.
Flowering depends on the age of the cactus and caring for it. Some cacti do not bloom until they are more than 30 years old; others will not bloom if they do not get proper cactus care conditions - temperature, lighting, watering and feeding.

Btw, I live in a hot tropical country. At no point of time does the temperature drop below 12 degrees celsius (or 20 degrees celsius for that matter), but I've seen cactuses flowering. Can you advise on why this is the case. And how to encourage flowering for cactuses in such a country.

Im in the tropics. It is always summer here, no winter. And I doubt the cactus I grow is ever in the desert. Are they still having dormant time?

My cactus was blooming from the end of April until the middle of May (2020)but then I noticed it’s flowers start to shrivel up and now in July (2020) and all the flowers have dried up. I would like to know if I have to do anything specific to help it flower again as I don’t know all that much about the cactus and I never even gave it any feed so I don’t know if feeding it is fully necessary. Please someone respond with helpful advise as it would be much appreciated 🙂thank you

Sir, the golden ball cactus which you’d mentioned that it’d missed it’s season to bloom flowers because of low temperature at night and so on. Is there a way to force it to bloom flowers early? Please help, thanks!

I bought a mamilaria from baguio city because i find it cute but when i came back to Bulacan it no longer blooms :( i guess climate temperature is really needed

i tried to put MSG to my mamilaria after 2 week it starts to flower, also tried it on my gymno it also had flower about the same time..maybe just maybe ajinomoto can make cactus bloom.
