Hi Lars. I stumbled on your channel about a year ago when F360 started to become truly usable. I was as frustrated as hell when starting out - quite literally banging my head against a wall a few times! As an apprentice 30+ years ago I worked in a drawing office for 9 months - non-CAD, I then got on with my career (electronics). I still remembered how to draw on paper/film, but CAD was a truly frustrating nightmare!! Thank you for saving my sanity - Best Teacher - EVER! :)

Hi Lars, hi all ! About avoiding clamps, instead of adding the clamps to the model in the setup, you could add them to only the relevant operations in the "Geometry" tab by checking the "Model" checkbox and selecting the clamps there. Or even better, also in the "Geometry" tab by selecting the "Avoid/Touch surfaces" checkbox and again add the clamps there witch will give you the option to add clearance around your clamps. Just wanted to add a comment about selecting your clamps as part of the model. If the tool you select is smaller than the through slot on the clamp, Fusion will try to cut in the clamp where your physical stud would be on the table. To avoid this, either pick a larger tool so it can't physically fit inside the slot of the clamp, or change your clamp in Fusion to have no through slot so Fusion knows not to try and cut inside that. 20:27 shows the tool path cutting inside the slot of the clamps.

You are right, lol. I was trying to be fancy and use the actually clamp models. Extruded rectangular blocks will be better :-)

Pull out the operations in the pattern folder and place them back in the root of the setup. You can delete the pater folder after that if it is empty and you no longer use it.

Hi Lars, This request is not CAM related but I thought that you might be able to answer this question on your next video. Question... I have a number of engineers and designers viewing and querying a design and every time they exit the file Fusion saves the file by default and also sends an email to the team causing much fear that the design has been altered when in reality, it's just been viewed and components have been turned on and off, etc. Is there a way to exit a design (model) without Fusion automatically saving it and creating a new version? Thanks in advance. Pete

If you go into your Preferences and look in General, the 4th item down (in the right-hand window) is "Automatic version on close". Untick that. OK/Apply it, and you F360 will stop versioning on exit. I hope this is what you need. Susi x
