Your amazing thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community. I made a mold and copied the body which gave me two halves but when I try and put them together I have 2 right versions! With this I now have a solution to get a left version. The best thing about learning fusion 360 is that it’s completely free on KZfaq from generous people like yourself! Most appreciative, Paul

Thank you so much for teaching me fusion 360. I am a hobbyist. I have had fusion for a little over a year. At first I was teaching myself with the tutorials from autodesk. I could barely get past press-pull, and simple models. I would get frustrated of going nowhere after hours trying. Then would go months before attempting again...Your videos are turning me into a Fusion badass. Again thank you...Oh yea this one was exceptionally good

Cool video! I use to learn design spark mechanical, i want to learn fusion 360 for more complex designs. I want to create a object with some features to fit a bearring and some springs inside piece, the issue is that i want to have 8 bearings in total with same features, i don't know how to use mirror function, to make 1 feature and apply it 7 times more in simetry on 7 different angles and faces within same piece design. It is a hard press a bearring with a rod through it to fit by compressing rod into a plastic 3d printed object that i want to create, at the ends of rod of each bearing to be sustained by a steel spring.

Is it possible to mirror entire components to include joints? I'm lazy and would rather make one complex component than four, I tried making a mirror to get two and then making a mirror of a mirror to get four, this looked great but the parts had hinges and once I tried to move it around only the original stayed together, the joints hadn't mirrored along with the parts and the others fell apart.

hello lars, what are the differences between Inventor. AutoCad and Fusion360 . I hope you make video of it. Many company in my place they prefer Auto Cad more, but for me I learn using SolidWorks before and now Fusion 360
@cadcamstuff

Hi Halim Idris Thank you for watching! I will put that on the list for sure. Autocad is primarily only 2D. Inventor is very much like SolidWorks, full 3D. Fusion 360 is Inventor/SolidWorks but also include the use of the cloud. Best, Lars

Hello Lars :-) I have wondered if there is a more accurate way of adding text in fusion. like in this video if you would add the text manually again on the (new) left version, how could you make sure it is placed exactly in the "right spot". hope my question makes sense. to me it seems that you have to sort of eyeball it.

is there an option in Fusion 360 to have a real-time mirror applied? For example I set up XZ to be my global mirroring plane and start building up half of my model in positive Y-direction and it instantly mirrors these steps on the other side of the XZ Plane in negative Y-direction? I cannot seem to find it in fusion or anywhere on google. Thanks.
@cadcamstuff

There is not. Normally you would build the entire right before mirroring to the left

Great share, thanks. History in Fusion 360 can get cluttered up with edits, can it not? It seems this is a negative of History. How long does the design go before all those edits are confusing to the next person that picks up the design. I know you can play the History like a movie, but it seems there has to be a cleanup along the way, but I don't believe I ever heard of that being done. This is more of a workflow issue than anything else.

@@cadcamstuff There's two levels to a design - first, to imagine the parts correctly, then to find a good step flow in Fusion 360. Two skills. And, of course, a third level - tool-specific attention to get a good toolpath, right? You should offer training on Udemy, you have a lot to offer...

ok.. I have a question, probably noob, but.... when I try to mirror, the "Pattern type" option isn't there so I can only choose an object, but not a feature for example. Any solutions? I am on the "Mirror" from "Create" and not on the one from "Sketch" btw (that one is greyed out anyway so even if I wanted I couldn't purposely mistake it) I've used mirror before and it was working fine too... thx for anyone that can help

Updates Dude, updates which actually made Fusion less functional. Lars knows this thats why few questions are answered by him anymore. I used to be a fan of Fusion, i now have changed my mind on it, its NOT easy, its NOT usable and Autodesk are doing this deliberately to move users onto a more lucrative cloud based software

One thing that I've found makes a big difference - click on the help icon in the upper right, select Graphics Diagnostic, then select the option for Limit Effects to Optimize Performance. Before changing that, I had pretty bad lag/delay - afterwards it runs super smooth. I don't know what effects are being limited, but I've never noticed anything that's now missing... other than the lag!

I'd say your processor is the limiting factor, an i3 is generally dual core and it seems to be quite a low operating frequency too.

Then mirror it from right to left. Worked perfect. Mirror it again from bottom to top. now I have 3 cut outs and try to get a fourth one in the left top corner. to do that I try to mirror one of my mirrored objects. that I cant get to work. How can I do 4 cut outs that always change to the dimensions of the first one?

The word FUSION was just sitting there, begging to have CON in front of it :-) Sorry, my comment was probably a bit too obtuse. The left and right parts is something I have just dealt with - the hard way! - recreating the sketches. Will need to try that out.
