7:10 You can just check "Thread with start face" option under the Thread options so you dont have to use Cut Extrude to remove the excess thread.

Hi sir. I'm a beginner to this software and don't have any knowledge of other similar softwares, so I had tried some 100 places to learn but nothing like your tutorials. I never felt like I'm learning from internet even a single time. U teach so precisely mentioning every single command but even then, videos are short and clear to understand even for a novice.

Hey bud we use metric die for making threads on a shaft as u said M6×1. Der the shaft dia is already 6 and u added threads externally which eventually increased the diameter, everything aside well made tutorial for beginners..👍👍

Is this not correct way to make a nut bolt pair then? Pls elaborate
@sreeramkonnanath8692
@sreeramkonnanath8692 4 жыл бұрын
@@sparshgarg7937i think what he said was that adding the thread would result in an increase in the shaft dia from 6 to something more,the method is right is suppose, just have to compensate for thread thickness
@paulpahl1607
@paulpahl1607 3 жыл бұрын
@@sreeramkonnanath8692 Metric die would have been the right choise instead of matric Tap I think. Because then the coil would be cut into the core (so 6mm outer diameter stays correct) and not extruded on it.

Great series of tutorials, I am learning a lot! One quick point -- taps are used to thread holes (aka "tapping") and dies are used to thread shafts.

At 10:07 he initially says the hole thread selection is a DIE, but later corrects it to TAP for the nut hole, so don't get mixed up, a tap threads a hole & die threads a bolt (for reference).
@marshal7102
@marshal7102 5 жыл бұрын
One way I did my thread cut was to use a plane on either end of the bolt and nut about 10mm from each surface as a start point and there was no need to edit the ends of the threads because they extended past the ends causing a smooth thread start. Also I chambered my bolt end and nut ends before I even threaded them. They came out perfect with no need to clean up the ends.

One doubt, if this is M6 bolt, then it means it should go through 6mm diameter hole. But if you extrude a thread, won't the maximum diameter increase?

As for the little problem of the nut traveling the wrong way on the bolt in the animation, do not worry, it does not strip the threads out of your virtual nut like it would on a real nut. I went to Mates>Screw>Edit feature>Mechanical Mates>Screw> Distance/revolution=1.0mm, and *UNCHECKED* Reverse. Then the nut went the right way on the bolt.

what I am confused about is that you extruded M6x1.00 on top of a rod that is 6 mm diameter already. M6 is 6 mm across the peaks of the threads. if you start with 6mm rod, shouldn't you have to cut extrude the thread??
