What a great side-by-side comparison video. Depending on lighting and time of day, many characteristics varied much more than I expected between these two Caddx cameras. From sharpness, contrast, brightness and clarity (focus and noise levels). Very useful for anyone wanting to make a subjective comparison. The video also does good job of highlighting weak areas of the Nebula Pro, which many have picked without deeper considerations. Would be interesting to see real-time histograms of each video to get an analytical perspective on sensor characteristics of each camera. This is too much to ask from you as already put so much effort into creating this comparison. Just thinking, of better ways to compare camera that is less subjective.

Hey Gal thanks for another great video. Both are great in their own way. My opinion is Polar for dark days and evenings, Nebula Pro for bright days. The nebula has so much detail less blur on textures like leaves and grass imo

Nebula Pro despite smaller 1/3 sensor showed very good performance. Will try to get it into my collection.

Excellent side-by-side comparison video! The Polar definitely has more dynamic range in the shadows where more details can be recovered in post. Not so with the pro which is probably deliberately set to more contrast with some sharpness out of the box (e.g. dark shadow areas have very little to no information left). I have both and while the configurability of the Pro is preferred, the Polar would be THE one if Caddx comes up with a (configurable) Polar Pro version (IMHO).

Thanks. I ended up choosing the Nebula Pro as my second digital camera along with the full size Air Unit. I look a little noisier than the Polar, but it is capable of 120 fps, and has a 4:3 mode. Which is just amazing. Thanks again.

The only reason the Pro is noisier at night is because 120fps requires twice as much light as 60fps, so the ISO has to be pushed harder (which means more noise).

Fantastic Video. I had been looking into whether I should just buy the Polar which I have found in stock or just be patient and wait for the Nebula Pro. While the Polar low light is IMPRESSIVE. Like I knew it was focused towards low light flying but truly wow it is awesome. I never fly in low light tho. So Nebula Pro it is. Just gonna play the waiting game for it

nebula pro look better to me in the daytime but becomes unusable when the sunsets. The polar is still at least usable in dark conditions.. Great Video!!

i like the nebula better, the polar have a yellowish tint and a bit dimmer , on low light the polar have less noise and looks better than the noisy nebula. wish that the nebula had the low light res of the polar :(

My 2 Polar's are in the mail... figure for a night cam at the least. Going in 3" & 5" ToothFairys the Pro is much nicer though... buying a half dozen soon as they are back in stock. Soon as that sun sets the Polar is in it's groove. Love flying right after sunset.

This is a great comparison. It shows that the color balance on the Nebula Pro is much better than the Polar. Does anybody know if this has been made better in the Polar? As a photographer the Polar color balance probably won't bother to much me while flying, but when I later viewed it on the computer it would really bug me.

Really wish they made these cameras more easily removable from the Vista kit, because I would love to be able to run Nebula during the day, and switch out to a Polar for dusk and beyond. Might have to build a cheap night-time drone with a Polar setup, i guess. Kind of hard to justify wasting money on either one now that the 03 Air Unit is out, tbh haha.

is the polar one a new one? ANy other differences? I have the nebular pro. Also is there any major differences between the Polar and the DJI one? I can see is a white-balance difference from this video

The Polar is the latest camera.Just like the Nebula Nano / Micro it won't let you to adjust the picture settings. The Nabula Pro is similar to the DJI camera in terms of picture quality (720p 120fps on the goggles in comparison to 720p 60fps with the Polar).

That’s not what I meant. Nebula pro has 150 FOV, Polar 162. So since the wider fov you have to see a wider picture with som more distortion. How did you fix this?

@@MatthiasFrommann That's a difference of 6 degrees per edge of video (corner to opposite corner). Realistically you'd barely notice that.

Guess i'll stay with polar for this winter. It gets dark too early. I can live with its quality, but only 16x9 aspect ratio and 60fps is not that great. Will switch to pro next summer for sure. Thank you for the comparison.

Thanks for the comparison Gal. Polar is looking not bad, though the colours are a bit off. Would be great to compare Polar with MIPI, as these are the only available options nowadays, not considering the Nano. Btw, have you noticed the latency spikes with Polar Joshua was talking about?

Nebula Pro is still the best camera for DJI system by far. The shortage of cpu is a pain. Moreover, the polar is 16:9 native sensor right?

Both are good camera systems. A few instances where one seems to beat the other with color brightness, the polar sometimes looks like it’s utilizing an ND filter. Possibly thinking I’d go for the Pro version just seems that the colors are crisper and clearer.

an ND filter inside a cam for night flighing woudn't make any sense at all. but maybe using an ND filter would help the picture look better during daytime. maybe somethig not to strong like nd4 or 8.

Hello Gal, there is no comparison between "NEBULA POLAR 16:9" and "NEBULA PRO 4:3", since everyone flew the PRO in 4:3 and now has to fly in 16:9. I'm interested in how the field of view is now different.

@@jakedavid2523 you can see the "air unit" camera (the square one) and the nebula pro as the same camera, pretty much. The Polar has amazing night vision, but for everything else the other two are better: better video quality during the day, they go at 120fps instead of 60, they have a lower video latency, you can switch between 16:9 and 4:3 (the polar is 16:9 only). Don't confuse the air unit camera with the air unit! One is just the square camera, the other is the big TX. You can buy an air unit camera that comes with the Vista TX (caddx also calls that kit "air unit lite"). It's the best combo IMO. Speaking of the TX, for freestyle go with the Vista. It's smaller, lighter, and gives you the same performance. The Air unit TX is big and bulky, and the only thing it does is having built-in video recording. Not worth the price and the hassle to fit it in normal frames. In conclusion: -The best kit is the "air unit lite" (square camera and Vista TX). the square camera is the best one -The second best kit is the Nebula Pro + Vista kit. The nebula pro camera is almost the same as the square camera, just with a slightly worse video quality. Not noticeable at all IMO, you only see it when looking at footage side to side -The best for night flights is the Caddx Polar Vista, it really can see in the dark! It doesn't have 120FPS or 4:3 though. It is also cheaper Hope this helps!

You guys are all worried about color tones. Realistically, you should be wondering "Is the polar able to provide decent enough color and picture quality for me to fly this quad, day AND night?" Don't cheap out. Get a GoPro to throw on your quad for the actual footage that you are going to work with. Set your fpv cam to record as a backup, and quit worrying so much. The Polar, though not perfect, is good during the day and better than the rest at night. What more do you really want? All the pretty colors during the day doesn't outweigh being able to fly a hell of a lot more since you can still see after dusk. ;)

I'm frustrated with the lack of camera adjustment by the glasses, it doesn't make sense to remove this setting as the product is being manufactured by Caddx under license. Unfortunately, for those who fly at night and pre-flight adjustment would be very welcome.

I think that they were forced to do it due to hardware issues. Hopefully Caddx will be able to figure it out soon.

Pro looks better to me. Polar looks to have to be in cool mode and the Pro in warm which always looks better to me.

@@disco.volante nano was to be cheaper (barely cheaper I felt like) and lighter. So basically was for whoops. Micro was one eachine branded? Yea that was a lot heavier. And only a lil cheaper. I have ever only bought the pro. I'd only get nano if it was a whoop and I'm really trying to save every gram. Cause if not I'll just do analog.

Reasons for getting a Polar 1. Low light performance 2. It's in stock and looks better than a nano Reasons to not get a Polar 1. Only 60fps high latency 2. 9g weight 3. Colours look blue and inaccurate
