Caddx Walnut - 3 months later. Its still quite a good quality camera and has decent footage that supports gyroflow. The fact that it has replaceable ND filters and its price makes it a good choice of camera to use for FPV.
This action camera is pretty decent and Im kinda loving its simplicity and price point. Still out experimenting on the footage to make it much nicer to look at, so do expect more videos with this camera.

Best way to compare action cameras is putting them on the same drone and fly the same path to see how they both react to the same thing

Of course. But so many have done it, so I just did it my way. Plus, I didnt have the time to build that rig or have it 3D printed.

Awesome flying. Thank you for showcasing these. I think i'm going to buy the Walnut. Looks like a really good camera. I have a GoPro Hero 11 Black but it's sooooo heavy.

Great comparison and flying my bro. For the GPH5S is still one, if not THE best camera for FPV. I think it's their superview that just nukes the entire competition

aawww thanks man! Im sorry i couldnt fit all the cameras onto 1 quad and make the flight with 1 pack... that wouldve been more obvious for camera comparison.

Thanks for the comparison. To me the session5 is still the GOAT. The motion blur, dynamic range, colour, not over sharpened and LASTLY the AUDIO IS 👌👌 Can lend me the walnut for review? 😂

aiyah! Shouldve passed it to you just now dammit. Yeah, I have to agree. The mic on the session still sounds best. But... when u crash with the session vs crashing with the walnut... the pain is more bearable with the walnut... hehe

A nice nd filter solution is what's missing from the runcam 5 orange. I use layers of car window tint, which is decent, but I wish it worked like the walnut.

yeah there is that too. And for me, weight is the main factor... and the runcam has never been one that is reliable. And worst, there are no spares for the runcam. When I approached them, they told me to just buy a new one.... so basically, its a use and throw camera.

Colour looks much better with the filter. What resolution were you recording in? 2.7k?

The walnut? No bro, was recording in 4K. All 3 cams were recorded in 4K.

Hey its my pleasure bruh!!! OOOOHHH!!! Dont forget Walnut has no stabilization, i recommend the Caddx Peanut if u can still find it. Its essentially a GO2 without the case. Slightly bigger by a few millimetres.

@@vernelfpv aaaaah!!! Ok gotcha. Might wanna consider the ThumbPro W(also no stab). Just need to wire the power supply to the FC I recommend this based on weight. But the walnut is okay if ur ok with no stabilization. Can always do it on gyroflow.

nice comparisom, my ex session5 had a lot of jello, impossible to use with nd filter on freestyle. acttually i use gopro 11 mini

thanks bruddah. Yeah, despite what people say, just hard mount the Session5 and it will be non-existent. Unless ur flying with a bent prop. Yeah, the 11 mini is just perfect. Just a tad heavier.

Can this camera be used for an extended period of time, helmet camera, without overheating? Was thinking of helmet mounting this camera with an external power bank.

@@FeralHawg-Armory pleasure bruh! Aaww man, that sucks. An alternative for ur helmet cam is the insta360 GO2. Its 720p max if u dont mind it or a runcam 5 orange if u want a box camera.

Hey buddy please can you tell me what kind of SD card I need, I’ve bought two brand new ones and both only record for either 3 or 5 minutes 😩 I got in touch with Caddx but as yet they haven’t got back to me with a recommendation apart from to say that my problem should be expected if I’m using fat32 - I’m on the latest i9 computer and using top end SD cards so I’m at a loss 😩 Thanks in advance mate 🤝

Interesting. I hear ya bro! The sd card im using is a scandisk ultra U1 card, 32gb. So far its dependant on how many minutes i set it to.(did u check the recording limit?) hope this helps. Hey man, nice video. No one seems to be talking about the Walnut battery life - 30 mins (probably max!) sounds way to short to me. Would love to know your thoughts..

oooohhhh... thats brilliant. Didnt think of that... yeah.. there abouts. But generally I turn them on and off so I hadnt really noticed. I think ur right. 30 mins there abouts... hmm... I usually record stuff for short periods of time like max 3-4 minutes.. then I turn them off. if Im out on a road trip I'd probably have to constantly charge the walnut as compared to a gopro... but the session i have also have a short battery span so its kinda similar in situation.

@@shogunemperor Yeah I would have bought one if battery life was closer to an hour. I actually wrote to Caddx about this, they didn't seem to think it matters as you can power from your quad, but I'm assuming you have to install the magnetic charger? (Not practical and adds weight). I would need to swap the camera between 3 different quads, so this isn't a solution for me. My Runcam 3 still does about 60mins, and it's 6 years old. So frustrated about this one aspect, maybe they'll sort it in the next version..

Do you know if the battery lasts much longer on 1080p rather than 4k?

@@nickybomz yeah so on that point i'd say get a camera that works for u. Like i have a cinewhoop that i rarely use.. same scenario. I have a runcam5 too that i rarely use cause the colors terrible. So i'd say, stick to a gopro. It'd be more assuring that the batteries are replaceable, easily repaired if it gets damaged. At least thats my 2 cents worth. For me, as someone who never wanted to buy a gopro and spent loads of cash on finding cheap cameras... i ended up using a gopro due to its reliability.
