CADDY FRONT END CONVERSION!

So since we bought the crashed caddy from Copart, we needed a new front wing, so it makes total sense to just do a front end conversion on the Caddy. Now we had two options; a facelift conversion OR something a bit more crazier and different.. which of course were going for. So today we are starting a Touran Front End Conversion on the Caddy!

Be sure to remove the big chunks of foam from inner wing, this is what holds water and rots the wing from the inside! Same on mk4 golf’s etc.

The small triangle window unbolts from the inside to get the last 2 bolts to get the wing off 👍

You'll blow holes straight thru the metal if you try to weld the 'seam' with the arc welder if you've got. Spot weld them on with a mig welder like they came from factory. Panel bond adhesive would also do the job as it's not a structrual panel.

Fit the front end before welding the wing tips for better alignment/finish. Or just temporarily tack them on.

You think your weather's shite, try living in Scotland. Can't commit to doing something on the car unless I know it's a 10 minute job cos it might start pissing with rain at a moments notice. Class that you're getting a unit, looking forward to the content that comes off the back of that!

VW clips- push them in then push the tab down then pull out. Jobs a goodun. Get those foam inserts out their water catchers and the reason why they all have rusty arches

Running a weld across the seam will put too much heat in the metal. I would stitch weld it and alternate sides to spread the heat.

Little hack for VW/ Vag Clips push it in and pull the clip will release it🫣

i come here to say this, nobody knows that you have to push them in first then pull the release tab back followed by the actual plug back. Everyone pulls the plug and tab at the same time and they just lock together so people get pissed off and snap the whole thing. Glad someone knows!
