Offense, defense, rebounding, and leadership are all done at a high level, making him a truly all-rounder PG. On top of that, he doesn't want to hold the ball that much, so he can coexist with other superstars.

I agree with offense and rebounding, but he was borderline atrocious on defense last season, he was blown by so many times and was fooled by the simplest of dribble combinations, I think he will eventually become a elite defender cause he has the physical tools and IQ to do that, but rn, based on last season, he's a below average defender

@@nahidk7122 blown by cause he doesn’t have the footspeed to move with the most explosive nba guards, but to say he was atrocious a bit of a hyperbolic statement… later on in the season he was a steal and a block a game at 6’7 220lbs he was playing good defense on guys like curry and durant but dynamic scorers like tatum made him look foolish. Potential to lock up anyone

I never seen a man cook dudes in slow motion so bad. His hesitation and change of pace is so sneaky and smooth it catches defenders off guard.

Cade will never be as good as Luka was at 20, but I think he could be better 25 yr old. Luka was just a grown man earlier. 23-7-6 this season. Book it. You could see it coming end of last year. Luka numbers are coming in 2023 -24.

@@sammadison1172 Luka is irrelevant to Cade’s growth. This is from me as a piston fan, Luka is a superstar and I believe Cade will become one soon. However neither Luka or Cade will win a championship by themselves, so I care more about how the pistons build around Cade. When it comes to young talent, pistons blow the mavs out the water and that is what matters to me. Twice Cade is a two way superstar caliber vs Luka being a generational offensive juggernaut They are similar with pace, stepback 3s, and vision however they are more different then most think

There's one nuance about cade that I noticed watching this. Whenever he gets switched onto, he does not wait for that defender to set his feet to make his move. The second he recognizes the switch, it is attack mode. I can't imagine how difficult that is to make adjustments around.

If he can play more of the 3 next year as a scorer this team will balance well💯 Cade is strong and poised to get to hos spots on anybody but needs to focus on scoring more this year it Ivey running point

They'll be switchable, with Cade playing more of the point guard/primary playmaker role and Ivey playing more off-ball. But Cade will play a little off the ball as well. Gonna be very fun to watch

maybe if he was a rookie in 2013 he would win ROY like michael carter williams, but putting up a terribly inefficient 17 ppg isn't gonna win ROY on a stacked rookie class

Cade is not as athletic and explosive as the other players but his iq is on the other level and decision making plus his superb shooting. He’s very mature when it comes to decision making

I personally don’t see definite superstar. He could be a perineal all star and at his peak maybe a borderline superstar but don’t think he’ll ever be a top 10 player in the league

@@aayoung1995 I don’t think he’ll have a case over guys like tatum, Luka, Trae and Zion assuming he stays healthy. Plus talent that could come in and make their case the next few years. If Cade peaks as someone in that 11-13 area of top players that’s great value for a first pick. Not everyone can be top 10 too much talent

@@jtellis653 trae young? Cade has that type of offensive bag already, just not as efficient yet... and neither was Trae his rookie year. He is one of the best skilled in the nba already as a rookie. I imagine he will improve his efficiency year after year, and the defense isn't great yet but the potential is there with his physical gifts. This will at least make him better than Trae at some point, as he's already a far better defender and has the potential to be just as good offensively imo. He'll be in the top 10 discussion in 2 years' time. Book it!

@@theawesomeinc_6483 how many games did either of you watch? He came on really strong right around the all star break and took off the s the second half of the year. I suggest you go watch some of his highlights After the all star break he averages 22, 6.5 assistant and 5.7 rebounds...as a 20 year old rookie...how is that underwhelming??? Did you even watch him???

@@liquidmetalslime9 I will admit I didn't watch him after a while, do not get me wrong,I am his biggest fan but I got disappointed real quick earlier on in the season. And he was not entertaining to watch so I stopped. I think the Pg position exposes his weaknesses, he thrives more as a scorer than a pg. Plus I really hope he's working his left hand cos it's very suspect. But honestly, I stopped watchin him cos I got sad and disappointed. Do not get me wrong tho, I still root for him. But he's been underwhelming to me, I expected more out of him like Lamelo proved. Well, imma check to see if he has improved later this season but for now, I say this with sorrow, he's been underwhelming.

@@theawesomeinc_6483 you do he know he had an ankle injury, missed all of training camp and preseason, once he got his conditioning back under him, he was great, especially for a 20 year old rookie. I wouldn't take LaMelo over Cade right now.
