I played quads on this! I've been looking for this video. It was November of 2001. Jeff Queen is the snare in the center and only about half the line was actually Cadets guys. There were some Crossmen guys, people from other corps (I marched Glassmen), and just some college friends. Jeff Queen pretty much led it and wrote the licks though we all pitched it. The whole thing was put together in a couple hours.

Funny that Cadets are playing on YAMAHA *and* they have a cymbal line. (Cadets had a cymbal line for the last time in 1992, which they still marched Pearl.)

@@simplyvibinn5417 The Cadets snare line was more known for tight sticking in the traditional sense with hands close to the drum head. A main rival, the Blue Devils from Concord, CA had a high sticking style commonly called "monkey drumming." John Stone ^^^ offered the suggestion that by exaggerating the high sticking that the Cadets were making fun of the Blue Devils snare line. @sam signorelli (Blue Devils veteran soprano bugle and true expert on all things drum and bugle corps), did I get the explanation close to correct?

@samshoemaker78656 жыл бұрын
ikarooz I think people are just annoyed because dci never gets ANY press, so when it does, people want it to really convey what the marching arts is all about, and what makes us so passionate about it, and this was a pretty watered down and rushed. But I agree, to most people, this was probably pretty dope.

Have you ever played in a TV studio? Polished hard floor, glass and steel walls, open steel beam ceilings, massively long but shallow rooms. You may as well be playing inside an underground cavern. Impossible to hear anything - because you hear everything that was ever played in the last 10 seconds. Horrific sound live.
