Replacing Speakers on your car (4th gen 4runner)

So I’ve owned my 2003 4Runner for about a year and since day one I noticed the speakers on most of the car did not work , I actually had to remove the rear subwoofer last winter due to being badly blown , this car is equipped with 10 speaker but want to keep it under a budget , I did a video in replacing the speaker even if the installation isn’t the same the speakers used are decent and might help people in selecting speakers .
Comment any suggestions or tips and suggestions always welcome .

Thanks for this. Looks like 2 wires to the door tweeter (+ and -.) Different from the non-JBL system where there are 4 wires. In non-JBL system, sound goes from head unit to tweeter then to door woofer. In this JBL looks like each door speaker gets it's own run from the amp.

Just so you know you dont have to take that entire side panel off to reach that rear 8". There is a pop off panel that gives you access to the speaker and amp.

There is no there is not it looks like there is but the panels are welded plastic

I see you have the old JBL Synthesis speakers - so it had the factory amp that runs those? Did you run into any issues with that...did you do something on the back of your headunit to run your new speakers with that factory amp? Or are you bypassing that amp? Hope this makes sense.

Nothing needed I ran everything of the factory amp

But if you want best sound quality then it is recommended to replace the amp and better quality speakers with crossovers , again this was a budget set up

So it’s like the door speakers poop the Panel but be careful the plastic may crack from age two torx bolts I believe T25 , unplug and again same as the Sammy door speakers

Hows the sound quality when you turn up the volume? Is there any distortion?

I have a slight amount when getting to peak volume on the radio , again like I said , if you want perfect volume I would install cross overs ,

I have the same year model, and I didn't use nor need the spacers for any of the door speakers. You said BOSS makes good equipment? Man BOSS is Walmart and Amazon garbage 🗑. Otherwise, great video.

OK. you forgot the speakers right above the subwoofer. I guess you're not replacing those?

There are no speakers above the subwoofer , unless u mean the ones on the rear pillars which I mentioned I wasn’t replacing those or the center console one
