I'm at 1500 hours, all elite unlocked, dabbled with everything except will willbender and spectre. And still.... I just can bring myself to be like .. THIS is what I will main. They are all too fun.

You can also get ascended accessories and back packs from the living world merchants, and there are also a number of backpacks from completing achievements in the path of fire content there is up to 5 to be earned from that.

Crafting in GW2 is pretty cool in my opinion. The discovery part is interesting, the whole system is smooth and also gives you a bunch of xp. I have all crafting professions at max level and definitelly can recommend getting into it to anyone. Either for ascended gear or another way to make some sweet gold. Thank you for the video man! this was very helpful & thank you for the link. i have been clueless how to get any gear better than exotic despite having many lvl 80 characters. have never done raids, fractals, pvp, etc., & i play solo with no IRL friends playing any more, so it's been quite a struggle. thank you again.

Also in bloodstone fen for the back, ring and amulet you can reset the stats for just 100 unbiund magic (consuming maybe 2 or 3 of the currency). You can alt farm the nodes there or map conplete it, or do return to bloodstone fen to fast farm the currency

I actually liked doing WvW just to get my exotic warlord armour for my specific build, Nice easy way to get stat selectable armour, and I also have nice amount of tokens from the tracks (plus clovers!)

Another thing to remember about wvw armour is that 250 memories of battle is a good 40-50g worth of materials, and given you'll have to craft the grandmaster marks anyway, you might as well sell the memories and with the cost for just 1 triumphant ascended piece you can craft 2 ascended pieces the conventional crafting method. That's why I'd only say wvw armour is worth it if you're going for legendary armour, or if you just play a ton of wvw and over months and months you've stacked up all you need to instantly craft asc armor

It kinda seems pointless to work towards ascended gear before the expansion. We know, for example, that the upcoming legendary armor will likely require unlocking the Astral Ward and Rift Hunter armor collections, which may or may not involve ascended crafting. Furthermore, the upcoming new weapon unlocks, both for e-specs and the new weapons, will likely have some impact on the meta builds and stats required. So it seems like pre-crafting the materials (e.g., ascended ingots, leather, cloth, etc.) and gathering the usual things we need (e.g., Tier 6 mats, Shards of Glory/Battle, etc.) would be the safer bet if one wanted to prep for the expansion.

This is a very good point! Also means that price are likely to go up after expansion release, might be a good opportunity for profit optimisation if you stockpile now for resale then!

There is another way to get acended back packs if you absolutely need to get it, if you have access to the living world content you can get it with the currency's in those zones. You can also get the rings/trinkets and amumlets.

I think some trinkets can be earned using "guild commendations" that you get from doing guild missions. Worth a mention 😊

Currently, the Four Winds Festival is going on. And there can be bought an ascended accessory "Plush Kralky" for event currencies. It's with only one stat combination! (But they are best for my herald 🙂 so I get lucky).

@CaffeinatedDad you forgot to mention heavy armor ascended gear collection. If you make a Revenant character there is an entire 6-piece collection of ascended armor you can get that can be used on any heavy armor class. No other weight classes are available this way. Traveling merchants have a rare chance to sell an ascended backpack recipe. Cost around 60-70 gold to craft and comes with 2 infusion slots. Icebrood Saga has karma merchants that sell a couple trinkets for ice shards and karma. You can also exchange ice shards for Living World Season 4 currency to buy accessories or use toward Skyscale mount. Ascended breathers are from Bitterfrost for winterberries or merchant in Lion’s Arch for gold. If you do the raid collection ascended gear you cannot use the mystic forge to swap the stats later since that ascended gear are precursors for the legendary gear.

My short answer how to gear: 1) Look up a build. 2) Do strikes. 3) Do what ever you want. Either Power build or if you used level boost then hybrid. You can look up builds for full celestial or ask. DO NOT Raid in full celestial. Some of the bosses are Toughness tanks and Celestial gives you toughness 😂 you might accidentally be the tank.

The best long term, quality of life equipment you can get that isn't legendary is the ornate guild armor sets. This is exotic gear that lets you pick any available stat you want after crafting. The farm for it is getting the guild commendations and crystalline ore to unlock all the recipes and being in a high level enough guild that has access to the vendor. There are alternative pieces that don't require crafting like the Ice golem helmet and the Ebon shoulder boxes that can be bought from the TP. Also bladed armor from Verdant Brink (except the chest) can be bought with Airship parts and gold.

Crafting and gathering, IMO, is the fastest and the easiest. However it requires you to have special gathering equipment. There is a guide on how to level your crafting faster, you need to follow this guide so you can focus on gathering the materials you need to level up your crafting. You need a gathering tool with Volatility glyph or purchase the Volatile gathering tools. As you gather materials, you will also stack up some Volatile Magic. You can use this Volatile Magic to earn gold, tier-6 materials, or exchange it for Ascended amulet, ring, and trinkets. My favorite map to farm materials is Dragon Fall since you can also gather Mistborn Mote that you can turn into Volatile Magic or fly around the area to collect Volatile Magic. Not to mention, you can join the ongoing events for more rewards. You can check off a lot of things on your list just by participating in the events in this map. As I post this, we just finished the event and we're doing it again -- and it's 3:40 AM my time. :)

do return to Eye of the North achivements, thats one is free for everyone. U can get around 4-500 blue shards after complete it and buy whatever piece of ascended u want

about 4 or 5 years ago we used to get ascended trinkets from doing some maps like the berry farming map and stuff cant remeber the name, did they change it or u forgot to mention it?

I think you missed living world season 3/4 as ways to get ascended gear easily. Bitterforst frontier (i believe) is super easy. You can collect the berries on multiple toons a day and get a couple ascended pieces a week!

I did consider that, but I wanted to focuses on the basic ones from either the core game or the expansions. I feel like many players unless intrepid would not have lw seasons.having said that, IBS is a LW season too... gah

easiest ascended berserker backpack to get is from an achievement where you just need to own armor of a certain set you can buy for cheap at TP if someone wants to know any details, let me know

Really? what achievement is that? I looked through the achievement list whenever I was bored from farming mats, or waiting for a group to fill up, and haven't found that one yet... Would give me something new to look forward to/work on ^^

the items name is "Antique Dragon's Drape" and on gw2 wiki it says this to obtain: "Unlock 18 Antique Canthan Armor Skins by purchasing them from the Keeper of the Jade Vault in the Royal Court" but it also works, when you buy them from the trading post :D i bought some gear for my characters and randomly unlocked it because of that and it was great because i actually needed it hahaha

May i offer one more piece of information for those interested in asc equipment... Please be aware that the stat difference between full asc and full exotic is 10% And those are different too - full asc armor f.e. provides only a 2% increase from those 10 Therefore my proposal...get asc weapons for your daily driver. Always worth it! And also get full asc trinkets - and here you have not mentioned the EASIEST method to get asc back pieces and trinkets...living world season 3 (&4) In detail bitterfrost frontier for winterberries, bloodstone fen for blood ruby and draconic mons for fire orchid blossoms Together with unbound magic (also farmed automatically when you access these maps) you get everything to buy full ascended trinkets in approx a week They can be farmed daily - except winterberries which can be farmed daily/character not accountbound So if you have a few characters you can get a ring or a accessory in a day if you want

I love wve but the time it takes to farm the 365 skirmish tickets is just far too long as a new player, I'm like wvw level 205 so I get about 9 pips per tick but that's still a good 15 hours a week that I don't have time to do anything else in gw2. So it's either grinding 5 hours a week for wvw so I can get that juicy mistforged triumphant armour, or pve where I can do whatever I feel like on a given day

Negative! Ascended gear is only required for higher end fractals of the mists (mini dungeons). Otherwise exotic gear does the trick!

I still consider myself quite new, and have earned all my Ascended Jewelry from LW3 & LW4, mostly Bloodstone Fen, Bitterfrost Frontier and Sandswept Isles - for me these were the easiest 3 places to get my 6 Jewelry (im including Backpack in that 6) Now then, your Latin is terrible, _ad infinitum_ which means _again and again forever_ is best pronounced Add-In-Fun-Item Im not nit-picking, im educating, YTers especially should learn these things because younger (and less edicated) people learn from you, and America especially could use some idiocy-nullification (im Joking America! But its funny because its true) ❤

All u need to master crafting is gold, that you can get just by playing the game normally. If you have gold to buy mats, which is not a lot i might add, you just go on gw2 efficiency and follow a cradting guide, youll have a master lvl craft in 10 minutes.

Look am one of the laziest players in GW2, there is no need to grind, just play the game and you will get the mats you need to get your crafting to grandmaster, because the best gear in the game has to be crafted, there is no other way to get legendary armor, and legendary weapons have to be crafted except for first generation which you can buy in the TP for an absurd amount of gold lol.
