*quickish story* A car was driving by my house (he stops at a stop sign) and I heard the “woooh” part of the song so I tried to quickly get the song by using Siri. Didn’t work. They drove away too fast. So, I immediately tried to search it for myself, singing to Shazam, typing the wooo ooo ooo into KZfaq. Nothing. I finally took to my Instagram to ask my friends and none of them knew. I gave up. Over the last two-three weeks, the song would randomly pop in my head and I’d be gutted that I couldn’t find it. Today.. TODAY.. I randomly find a playlist on Spotify and scroll through, seeing Cage The Elephant, I’m like hey.. I know a few of those guys songs, let me try this one in particular. First thing I hear? “Wooo ooooo.” And I damn near cry. So, remember to treasure the little things people, they matter! Now the days nearly over but it feels great to have something small but significant happen. Little things man, little things. *the end*

The younger actor in this video was part of my orientation group at work, he had mentioned that he'd previously worked in big music videos as an actor but I didn't think much of it, he didn't end up keeping the job for longer than 2 weeks at the company I was at and disappeared and I haven't heard from him since. But every time I returned to this video I knew this guy looked familiar. One day it finally clicked, I know this guy, it's that guy that was in my orientation group. I absolutely had my mind blown by this. Just because this became one of my favorite songs and I listened to this before. I knew he looked familiar in the meetings but I never thought twice about it. His name is Anton Emelin, very peculiar guy with a really strong accent. Just wanted to share this story.

This song reminds me of high school, when my depression was at its worst. This song played on the radio one summer and my head was out the car window. I felt the breeze on my face for the first time in what felt like forever.

I had just discovered this song around the time of his passing and it will forever remind me of him. One day I was having a panic attack and couldn’t stop crying. My husband played a bunch of songs loud on the speaker and when this one came on I immediately calmed down. Now it’s my go-to on a hard day.

I see a lot of people here having the same misconception so lemme clarify it, It's not based on his Father, look closer the man he kills looks awfully like him right? It represents him in the future, when he killed him it meant you could do things to yourself that you wouldn't even notice, your future could change drastically by the decisions you make. The man laying down with the flower in his head means that the young man has been looking for a peace of mind and he'll find it through the girl he falls in love with. The song meaning is he killed his future by accident and he spends the rest of his life trying to find redemption.

This song means so much to me... Everytime I go through a rough moment and I feel alone, this song gives me company. When I came abroad and left my family and country (Peru), I put my music on shuffle on the plane and it came on. Only then I started crying. Now 5 years later, I've learned how to play it on ukelele and still makes me feel better when I feel that everthing is too hard and I can't deal with anything anymore. I love videos that don't make any sense at all because then you can have them mean anything you want them to mean, and put how ever much sense you want to put in it.

Because there are several comments here about the supposed meaning of the video, I thought I'd post this... Matt Schulz explained that the old man is the young man's father, and that the young man had resented his father for things like his superficiality, etc. Then after examining his own life the son found that he is part of the world's superficiality and emptiness too, and ultimately he becomes truthful with himself and laments his father's passing. Matt Schulz said that the idea for the song was inspired by a conversation he had with someone else, where both he and the other person were trying to present themselves as being completely candid - but in truth Matt knew that he wasn't being completely honest and instead was trying to present himself in a certain way/give a certain impression. All this is up on wikipedia...

I never comment on video's but this is honest to God my heart break song. I cry everytime. My wife left the house and push me away giving no other option but to ask for divorce. I've been ugly she's been ugly but I got a baby girl to worry about. Id rather her have 2 happy homes where parents are friend then a broken home. I don't regret shit. Whos here without knowing the Song from a TV-Series ?

I heard this song first when I was going through a breakup with the love of my life. The girl I wanted to marry. It has such a forlorn and lonesome sound to it, and it amplified the feelings of loneliness and sadness I felt. But I was attached to the song. You know how we do things that we shouldn’t, caught in cycles that perpetuate the things we wish to escape from. I couldn’t stop listening to this song on repeat, just wallowing and bathing in my heartbreak, laying on my bed, with no motivation to do anything at all. To this day, I feel I’ve never recovered from that breakup, and every time I hear this song, it brings back all of those emotions, and I feel this weird sort of nostalgia for the pain and heartache. Theory: the two men are the same person, and the young kid killed the older man, which represents him killing his future. Then, all the trouble he gets in with the "powerful people" which are the people all dressed up, is symbolic of what happened after he watched his future die. That's just what I think. I know there's a lot of wholes, but that's really all I can get.
