Caiman Lizard and Turtle Live Together ( Reptile Cohabitation )

Its getting cold and We have to bring in this painted turtle for her to stay warm. She lives with Thorn and everything is going really well! If you have questions let me know in the comments below. Enjoy!

I’ve kept baby tortoises with my leopard geckos before. They all got along great and they usually just stayed on different sides of the tank. The tortoises are in their own enclosure now until they are big enough to go outside

Funny thing is this is one of the main reasons why I like to watch lizards and turtles videos together because all I think about is Godzilla and Gamera 😂

I just discovered the caiman lizard when I was at my local aquarium. I have never wanted to have a pet lizard till i learned about these guys! I live in utah two, and wondering how hard it would be to have these guys here, as we are so dry, and have cold winters! Now I just need to convince the wife to let us get one haha

Full grown Caiman's are known to crush small turtles like they do snails but these guys seem very happy together!

Alexandre Or Alex Archambault he said that for short you can tell because of what he said with snails. Caimans don’t eat snails

Firstly, caimans differ GREATLY from caiman lizards. Secondly, if caiman lizards are eating turtles, they're eating fresh hatchlings, not turtles the size of this one. And finally, a well-fed caiman lizard isn't going to be interested in a turtle, simply because it's too difficult a meal, especially when the person shows up with chow all the time.

My red ear is a biter. He hates my guts and is only wanting to eat. Ive had him since a hatchling and hes 18 years old now Lol. So if i get a caimen in the future i dont think they will be good room mates.

Can a Caiman Lizard with a pink bellied sideneck or toad-headed sideneck turtle? Or did you specifically choose a Florida Red-bellied Turtle because they are more omnivorous and less carnivorous? I know this turtle does eat a lot of romaine lettuce, lily pads, etc..

Rhys Howard not completely sure but I think an enclosure measuring 8x4x4 foot enclosure would suit one comfortably

I've heard at least 8x4x4 with a considerable separate area for swimming.

Soup is NOT a painted turtle. Skin markings, shell coloration, and the shape of the shell (painteds have a much slimmer shell) are all wrong. My guess is she's a cooter of some kind, probably a red or yellow belly, but definitely not a painted.

LaughingAtTheDark yes I found out that she is a Florida cooter turtle shortly after I did this vid. Original owner told me painted.

@@TheReptileProject Ah, that makes sense. The two species do definitely look similar. It's a good thing you were taking her inside for the cold weather anyway; painteds can survive freezing temperatures that Florida cooters would have a really tough time with.

Do you think I can keep a panther chameleon and a caiman lizard in the same enclosure without a barrier? 6x3x6 - the chameleon will have most of the canopy area. My only concern is the small size of the chameleon relative to caiman lizard, and one attack on the chameleon may be a game over. Thanks!
