Caiman Lizard Enclosure Setup For a New hatchling

Here is an easy way to set up an enclosure for a new caiman lizard. A young one could live in this enclosure for about a year before they outgrow it. as they get older they spend less time in the water and more time climbing. you don't need much arboreal space while they are this young. when they get older make sure you plan on giving them plenty of space to climb.

Hey! I'm planning on getting one of these reptiles, and was wondering if you're planning to upgrade your tank at any point? I'm really not sure what the tank size should be for an adult versus an adolescent.

@@Sophia-dt6zt think of an enclosure for a tegu but you need a water area. A 75 is to small for a beardie it won't last long for a lizard that can get 4 feet long

Good work, ive built an enclosure like yours. Humidity is around 75-80. Water temp is around 86 degrees, and a basking spot of 105. My caiman lizard eats only at night, and during the day he sleeps all day long almost. Is this normal for a young juvenile to sleep so much?.

do you just let the humidifier run 24/7? i bought a humidity controller from amazon (made by hummingbird) for my merauke blue tongue skink. it think the controller was made for hydroponics but works great for regulating the pvc critter cage i use for the BTS. it has glass sliding doors on the entire front and big vents on the sides so it was just bleeding humidity and found myself misting constantly and still not keeping up with it, specially when at work.had it about 6 months now with no failures so far, i just use a Vicks humidifier and siliconed a pvs 2"-1" step down and just plugged a washing machine drain line to it. the vicks humidifier had better ratings than the reptile foggers i saw for sale the only reason i went with the Vicks, didn't save me any money or anything, just seemed more trustworthy. the drain line had rubber boots on the ends so worked perfect.

i read online like 6 foot long by 4 foot high by 3 foot wide is minimum for adult ones these are so cool and i want one but no chance with the amount of space i dont have

FunkeyProducts most tropical freshwater fish can. Some other reptile species could work as log as they have a good communal personality such as tropical turtles, female green iguana, Cuban rock iguana, rhino Iguana, and Basilisk lizard have been done before.

I think it can depend on the silicone you use. I made sure mine could stick to plastic. This is the second time Ive done this and have not had any issues.

@@THEE.apples What are you thinking about a community tank with arowana, peacock bass, stingrays and large catfish? All lizards or eat fish or the fish eats them because of their small size.. But I would like something like that..
