My dad cut the rope on that rope swing where you guys stopped at the 2nd most northern point. We camped not far ove the other side and where jumping in using that as kids. It had a super long bit of rope that extended into the water and it got wrapped around my sisters arm as she jumped. Her arm got stuck and she was suspended in the air with her arm (around her armpit area) being cut off. Dad ran and got his leather man and cut the rope to let her down. We where travelling around Australia with our 80 series land cruiser. Those where the days! (This is way back when I was like 9, I’m now 20 so it was a fair while ago)

See if you can get some comfrey leaves to lay on your ankle for half an hour each day. It’s also known as “knit bone “ and could be quite beneficial. Thanks for the video. It’s many years since l saw that part of the world. ❤️🐨

The reason the Daintree looks so prehistoric it is the jungle/rainforrestc in the world. It's between 135-80 million years old that older than some countries incldung New Zealand. But 180 is young for Australia, most of Western Australia is between 2 and 4.4 billion years old.

Can we get a fact check in aisle 9 please? 😅
@duncanmackenzie4076

You can Google and fact check it. New Zeland broke off from Australia and Antarctica (Gondwana) and started rising out of the ocean 80 million years ago. That's why there are no mamals that evolved there. The Pilbara Western Australia is the oldest place on earth, it holds record for the oldest crust of 4.4 billion and the oldest zicron minerals. The South West is the 2nd oldest regoin. The Daintree you must of read somewhere there is the oldest tropical rainforrest. Everything in Australia kind of looks jurasic, that's why it has the most reptiles of any continent too.

@@duncanmackenzie4076 ok now I’m curious, how can it be so old and yet have the least evolved animals? We did see that Daintree was the oldest rainforest in the world 👌🏼😁

@@cjexplores The reptiles we see today still evoled but did so along time ago and still have a jurasic look. But some like crocodiles haven't evolved much or the Cassowary in the Daintree hasn't either. The Pilbara is said to look nearly identical to what it looked like billions of years ago except it had huge mounatins which have eroded over time. I'm not a scientist but maybe when landscapes don't evolve greatly the wildlife inturn doesn't have to adapt. And when you are designed like a Croc and have huge success as a kiling machine you dont have to evolve much either. But Australia also is a huge place and regoins have varying ages. Many animals have greatly evolved there too into some of the weirdest lifeforms on earth. The majority of the continent was also once covered in rainforest like the Daintree. I know for example Kangaroos evolved from possum like creatures that live in trees. In the Diantree they have tree wallabies that formed part of that. Maybe when the trees died they adapted to bouncing across the outback on open plains.

@@duncanmackenzie4076 truuuuue that makes sense. Without any environmental pressures or anything there was no need for change. Crazy how old some of those landscapes are… mind blown 🤯
