To all the ignorant people complaining about the title of the video being 'Cairo: MEGACITY of the Middle East': First, the middle east is not a continent. Second, yes, Egypt is definitely a Middle eastern country and people. We have always had strong relations and cultural ties to other Middle Eastern countries. Where a continent begins and ends doesn't mean anything to the people, it's just a matter of geography. The middle east is more than geography, it's common history, language, food, culture and migration. - sincerely, an Egyptian woman.

Blacks only ruled egypt when they were conquered by the kingdom of kush which is 82 years, then they were expelled and the original people took power, look at the hieroglyphs you see the blacks in chains and the brown figures holding royal scepters

There’s some confusion as to what is geography. Middle-east is as much a geographical term as Africa. Geography is about history, language, food, culture and migration. So, Cairo being in the Middle-East (as well as in Africa) is a matter of geography, too.

That's because people who are descendants of the slave trade, like to pretend that Egypt was their history and their history alone, and maybe it was for a tiny portion of their ancestors, but largely, Egypt's history is tied to the mega-region of Europe and the Middle East combined. Until the rise of Islam, those regions were interlinked, with people in the Middle East also being parts of Greece and Rome, not to mention Egypt was ruled by the Greeks and Romans. Even our alphabet's evolution started with hieroglyphics. These people are getting their rocks off saying that Egypt is in Africa and it is, but like northern Africa has much more in common with Europe and the Middle East than it does with what is below the Sahara.

As an Egyptian woman, I'm so happy that you finally did Cairo! Everyone things that its just a desert with Pyramids and ancient museums. You research was unbiased and covered a lot o things in 10 minutes, the new capital, the 2 revolutions, the Islamic era and things that I didn't even know about it hahaha. However, when it comes to climate change in Alexandria, it's not like that, we are on our way of completely destroying our coastline and beaches by building new buildings, cafés, restaurants, hotels right on the beach. This might create a physical barrier so we don't notice it on the short term. It's now hard to see the sea from all of this new buildings. But as someone born and raised there, one of our nightmares is a possible high tsunami destroying everything, not gradual high sea levels by climate change. We, as Alexandrian, kind of lost hope.. it feels almost inevitable.. Thanks again! #NotificationSquad

As an Egyptian who grew up in one of the “newer” areas of the city, I find this extremely interesting. I’m glad that you guys were actually honest with your portrayal. Most places either degrade it until it’s unrecognisable and some people pretend there aren’t any problems at all. Great job capturing different sides of the city.

For people who complain about that Cairo is in Africa and not the Middle East... First off I'm Egyptian and if you want to know I live in Alexandria not Cairo Egypt as a country geographically belong to Africa (except Sinai peninsula which is located in Asia) but the point here is that Egypt's culture, language, religion and history is shared commonly with its neighbours from the Middle East (and btw Cairo was built by the Fatimiuun which are Arabs too) And Sorry if my English was bad or anything

It has historically had its place in the middle east and in Modern times I wish they also were more active in working with there middle eastern friends. I remember one time when Egypt and Syria were even one nation. And I hope Egypt can also once again be a role model for all Arabs and middle easterns again. It has its potential. No matter what people say, Egypt will always have its place in the middle east. Great video like always!

I am an Egyptian and this video got alot of stuff right . The new capital city will be useless because they announced the prices of accommodation and service there and their lowest prices are considered very very very expensive so it is very impractical solution that wastes alot of money made by a military president like all the military presidents before him just so he can write his name on a big project like the useless , second suez canal branch , putting us to debt . Instead he could have spent the money for his people like developing education , irrigation , medical systems .... etc . but ofc every president with military mindset can only think of himself rather than his soldiers or people.

So, the commentator started talking about the new administrative capital with criticism, but filled the rest of the video with a lot of good reasons justifying it. The weird thing is calling what happened in 1952 a revolution led by Abd-El Nasser while it was a coup on monarchy and British authority AND THEN people joined him afterwards, While calling what happened in 2013 a coup led by El Sisi at the time it was a revolution started by the people, Its main goal is to remove Morsi off Egypt's throne ordering ElSisi to take that step who didn't take the first chance to excute this popular order, but rather gave 3 time limits with a total of 9 days for Morsi to declare early elections as a more forgiving solution to the crisis.

Respect to all Egyptian people, Cairo was a modern and well educated in the 1800s but aswell wasn’t growing fast as demand. But still plays a important role in the Middle East. But as the 21st century Dubai is a more modernized city. Aswell the rapid economic growth in Cairo.
