The Fever schedule is absolute madness the first 7 games in 12 days, from 5/14 then again every other day thru 5/24 and they play the Las Vegas Aces on 5/25, with no rest. So that means they haven’t had a full practice day or day off since the start of the regular season. Then 5/28, 5/30, and 6/1 in the 3rd week of the regular season. Clark’s rookie average thus far is 17 pts, 4 rebounds, 5.5 assistss which is equal to or better than Taurasi’s rookie season 17 pts, 4.4 rebounds 3.9 assists. If she can manage to get an additional 1.5-2 ppg she stands a good chance of surpassing Seimone Augusta (Lynx) record for total pts. She’d need to do a lot more to surpass Augusta’s 21.88 ppg over 34 games. The turnovers will improve with time and adjustments and once the Fever players handle the passes from Clark better, and when the entire team is on the same page / playbook. Some of it is refs not calling fouls. Alyssa Thomas grab Clark’s arm at least twice in final 6 minutes of the 4th quarter but didn’t get called for fouls. Love seeing Cameron Brink doing well and can’t wait for Cardosa to be back playing. Kate Martin is doing well, and I wonder if the Aces will put Martin on Clark in their matchup.

This seems similar to the charter plane issue where one team is getting extra benefits where other teams aren't. The W had to yield on that issue.

Las Vegas has only really become a sports destination in the last 7 years (NHL expansion in 2017, WNBA in 2018, NFL in 2020). The LVCVA has been working overtime to make sure things like this past SuperBowl, Formula 1, and NBA Summer League happen here to further cement the city as a destination for sports fans. Different types of tourists typically spend different, too. So it makes sense that they would be ramping up a sports centric campaign and that they would want the first team to bring a championship to the city to be a part of it. As part of the sponsorship they are expected to attend mutually agreed upon LVCVA events and wear specific Vegas Branded apparel which Alysha has already started to post on social.

I said nope she should leave college because their was nothing to be accomplished by staying at LSU. Mulkey was not going to allow Reese to play the stretch 4 and redevelop her face up game which is the main reason she left Maryland. Angel had an outstanding year in her first year at LSU because she wasn't forced to play the low post at the 5. Reese is far more effective when she plays at the high post with a true center. Some didn't want her entering the league at the same time as Clark but that was politics. Anyway she has proven she made the right decision but that was because she was selected by the right team and in the right market for her skill set and style of play. Plus the coach who is defensively minded creates a perfect fit.😂

I followed women's college basketball thanks to Angel and the class of 2024 I have now transitioned into the WNBA. I have to say the league is getting it wrong by failing to take advantage of this class & do proper marketing. Bird & Magic gave them the blue print but it seems they still don't know what to do. Great recap. I just think it's so telling that the WNBA would spend time investigating the Aces. They make it so clear that growing the game and valuing these women are not their priority. They penalize every owner and org that wants to support its players. They only want growth if a certain type of player can be given credit for it.

Regarding the Aces investigation..Let's say the city if Indianapolis announced that with all the attention Caitlin Clark is getting it would be worth it to Indy to have a dominant team around her, so they were going to offer any free agents who came to the Fever in 2025 a million dollars as a sponsorship, would that be against the spirit of the salary cap? It would surely be a great investment for the city.

Since 2023 Championship, when I started my journey as a WBB fan, I have thought Clarkonomics and Clark attention was fantastic for black WBB players specifically. I never knew or cared who Lynette Woodard or Pearl Moore were before Caitlin Clark. I had heard SC Gamecocks were good under Coach Dawn Staley but I never watched a minute of a game until I heard a white girl from Iowa beat them (with swagg and bravado) in the 2023 Final Four) That’s how I ended up watching my first WBB Championship game. I never knew more than a half dozen WBB players names. Now I can name dozens of WBB off the top of my head, tell you their hometown and where they attended college. Mostly black women, an all because of Caitlin Clark. I even found myself shopping for Chicago Sky/Angel Reese merch earlier today, all because of Caitlin Clark❤

Tired of CC crying wolf. She talks smack dishes out suspect jabs and elbows and expects the league to be here bodyguard gtfoh. She isn't Larry Bird and she will be a good player but will she ever win a chip? She is a volume shooter and inefficient at that. Let me take 15 to 20 shots a game and ill avg 15 points with ease
