It was, without a doubt, one of the most talked-about topics in the past couple of days. While basketball is a physical sport by nature, intentional body checks are still frowned upon - and most of the time result in a foul. For Caitlin Clark.
So, who is #CaitlinClark? She is considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of women’s college basketball, especially known for her scoring. As a guard for the University of Iowa in 2024, the 22-year-old player became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball, surpassing Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points. Unsurprisingly, she was the number one overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, selected by the Indiana Fever. What’s more, her widespread popularity has helped increase interest in women’s college basketball.
Some say that Caitlin’s love for the sport is a part of who she is, growing up in an athletic family. Although she played various sports, she eventually concentrated on basketball and was a phenom from a young age. . Her grandfather recalled that, by the time Clark was five years old, she could dribble a basketball and already displayed great anticipation on the court.

Team USA led by Griner whose new found identity as a convicted international drug smuggling felon is not the image we Americans would like representing us.. will they be ready at custom's to conduct extensive baggage searches or perhaps daily scrutinized drug testing. Who knows . However France is currently a hotbed of political and civil unrest. Not to mention the ever present danger of an Olympic terrorist attack. So I personally look at not being on the roster for the Olympics to be a blessing. Not disrespecting the abilities of these women. But having watched some of their games I don't like the the tone of their game. Reminds me of thug life hood ball. Clark would not fit in. Chances are we may see a repeat of America's Pride soccer team. I know I have no reason to watch.

I watch our Olympic team for women’s basketball each time, but not the USA team - so dominant the contest isn’t there. But if Caitlyn’s playing I won’t miss a game. Special is always worth watching. I’d never heard of Diana something (the 6th Olympics person) before CC. Many will be hoping the US team fails without her. PS my team is the Opals - Aussie Aussie Aussie

She has single-handedly changed the WNBA to a must watch, money making sport. She has signed with NIKE, AS WELL as with other high paying top sponsors. Steph said she’s a better shooter than he is. The public and fans would rather watch her play than watch most NBA teams. What a phenomenon. What a thrill. Women basketball players will now be making more money than ever thought possible. Go Caitlin!

The women's basketball committee selects the roster. This includes South Carolina coach and former U.S. coach Dawn Staley, LSU assistant Seimone Augustus, Old Dominion coach Delisha Milton-Jones, Connecticut Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti and WNBA head of league operations Bethany Donaphin. Limited vision by these people.

Why not utilize the ROTY? .... and some of the reasons not to are also stupid.... "She wouldn't get much playing time!!" ... seriously??? .... but congrats to Caitlin for having the higher response....

Taurasi made the statement how she won 3 national championships and that's why she was selected to play on the USA team as a rookie? She played on the most stacked team in college basketball history! They won 6 more championships after she was gone. I wonder if she thinks she won those championships by herself?

I’m 71 years old and have NEVER watched a WNBA Game until watching Kaitlin Clark at Iowa her last Season. She’s a Baller! 💯 She’ll only improve with time in the League. She’s up for the Challenge from the Jealous Bunch. How Petty! The Olympic Committee doesn’t care about eyes on the Women’s Basketball Team…They are petty too! That isn’t going to stop her…it’s going to energize her like a Larry Bird or Magic Johnson…or Wilt, Russell, and Kareem. It’s NOT healthy to poke the Great Ones!!!

CC22 leads the WNBA in combined points and assists. She is the best point guard in the league. CC22 is the reason for the views and the league revenue doubling. MVP because of her impact. Give up the jealousy, dei, and entitlement. It is usual and normal for the Olympic basketball team to have a rookie.

The WNBA has perpetuated a Welfare Mind Set amongst its players since it’s inception. Instead of WELFARE MOMs, you have Welfare Players and coaches, too. No motivation to perform because they’re guaranteed getting paid…, even though the league operates annually at a deficit. Then being subsidized $15 million by the NBA! Caitlin Clark doesn’t generate JEALOUSY, she only shows how inferior these Welfare Players have been operating for so long. It’s the contrast that shows their mediocrity, compared to Caitlin’s overall excellence in each of her performances. She’s rocking the boat by showing their complacency and lack of ambition, that has manifested in little to no interest previously for the WNBA = WELFARE NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION! The LIGHT will always outshine the darkness. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀❤
