Henry Ruggs speeding at over 120 MPH killed a young girl. Only got 3-10 years on a plea deal. Fani Willis. Tiffany Henyard. Barack Obama. Kamala Harris. Puff Daddy. Oprah. Caitlin Clark has already--without playing ONE WNBA game--sold more jerseys single-handedly than the entire WNBA has in its entire history of existence. Further, she sold more jerseys in ONE DAY, than the entire Dallas Cowboys team sold ALL OF last season. Teams around the WNBA have started relocating games against the Fever to much larger arenas. Ticket prices have soared because of the Caitlin effect. Imagine if she decides to play overseas. Her popularity will skyrocket even more. When Aja Wilson does THAT...then you can argue for her to get a shoe. Otherwise, sit down...and stop acting like petulant children who want whatever toy they see other kids with. Let's not forget that the same people claiming Caitlin is overrated because she did not win a title in college--and that her individual stats don't matter--are the same ones who claim Lamar Jackson should be the highest paid QB in NFL history--due to his individual stats. Fact is, had Caitlin won a title in college, then the narrative would be, "Well, that's college. She has to win in the pros". Hatred is hatred and like a virus, it will always find a host. It's gotten so bad that some are now even claiming a Division 2 record trumps Caitlin's Division 1 scoring record. That is akin to claiming the minor league home run record trumps the one in MLB. If winning a title is the lithmus test for getting a shoe deal, then where was the outrage when Ja Morant got one before Nikola Jokic ?? As for the media coverage Caitlin gets--none of these people had an issue last year when the Colorado Buffaloes got ALL of the coverage, evne though they were a social media reality show train wreck and lost two-thirds of their games. The hypocrisy is both nauseating and pathetic.

Maya Moore and Candace Parker are two of the greatest women basketball players to ever play. Maya is being inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame today. She’s already in the Georgia Hall of Fame. She signed an endorsement deal with Nike’s Jordan brand prior to entering the WNBA in 2011. Candace Parker is a future Hall of Famer. She signed a shoe deal with Addidas in 1996. Why did neither player get an offer like Caitlyn’s? Popularity is why. Nothing to do with greatness, talent or skill.

Doug and These folks are literally just making up their own arguments. I don’t. Believe people are calling Nike racist by having two signature players, just stating the fact that one of the best players in the league (reigning MVP) is black and she doesn’t have her own shoe, but 2, now 3 other white players do. That is odd. I’ve never seen anyone rock the other two women’s shoes, but I doubt they are selling a ton.
