The WNBA seems to have a problem regarding defense, every team has a blind spot or many they do not defend well apparently. Hence scores are so high in every game even by the worse and usually losing teams.

@@Wolfen443 well, coaching is not good in the wnba; outside of the Aces. the wnba isn't the nba. it is not the peak of the women's sport. the premier womens basketball coaches coach the college game. even top high school programs like IMG Academy and Long Island Lutheran have better coaching than a random WNBA team do.

Jricks, you Angel Reese people say she’s better because you’re threatened by the awesome little white girl taking over the WNBA. The truth is, nobody in the league plays at the level of Caitlin Clark. They can’t dribble like her, shoot the long three like her, or make crazy passes like her. None of them are like her, especially Angel Reese. In fact, Reese is average at best. She just sits under the rim while getting her own rebounds and throws up ugly shots until one finally goes in. But most importantly, Reese is boring. Caitlin Clark has the multi million dollar Nike contract because she’s talented, fun to watch, and draws massive crowds. Reese will never be that.

Liberty shoot 45% so teams don't run that much against them, I guess. I also guess that most WNBA teams walk it up. Finally hardly anybody realizes how fast Clark is, how muscular and how rugged she is. I hear people all the time saying she is "frail." What a joke.
@mikeronald381216 күн бұрын
She’s a finesses player. Not sure why you mentioned muscular. That doesn’t mean anything. She doesn’t have good functional strength.
@deepcosmiclove16 күн бұрын
@@mikeronald3812 She can make a laser 80 foot chest-pass from one end of the court to the other. NBA players can't do that. Kevin Love can but not many others. Try it yourself. She doesn't have weight-room bulked-up musculature. Her strength comes from the gluteus maximus but one needs to understand human physiology to understand the source of strength. It's not apparent to everybody.
@mikeronald381215 күн бұрын
@@deepcosmiclove I have always been impressed by the way she snaps off passes and yes I've seen the long lasers. It's 1 of my favorite things to watch about her game. With that said her functional strength is not good imo. She likes to draw fouls so it's been engrained in her to kind of sell the foul by getting knocked off her spot. If she switches on D and gets matched up against a big or a stronger guard down low it's pretty much a mismatch. She doesn't hold her ground well. She's not sturdy. Kate Martin does not have her skillset but she is a stronger player and she can hold her ground. She uses her length and leverage on offense with her push offs and she frames well (keeps defenders off her hip.) Adding more weight will definitely make her stronger/sturdier but at the end of the day she's still a finesse player. Her lower body is built strong. She's just very lean from the waist up. Not to bring up Reece but she has really good functional strength. She can bully a lot of girls down low and Reece is not the biggest big.
@TheProchargedmopar15 күн бұрын
When asked What surprised her the most about CC when she first came into the league. Christie Sides said "her LEGS, The strength of her legs."

@@mikeronald3812 Clark is the fastest player off the dribble in the WNBA. She just blows by people. Where does that speed come from? She effortlessly shoots 30 foot shots that score. Try that sometime. I was a good player at 6’ 2’’ 185#. My effective range was 15-18 feet. Ordinary human beings can’t get the ball near the basket from 30 feet except with a throw. Clark is not a finesse player. She is faster and stronger than her opponents. That’s why she is the all-time leading scorer in Div. 1. As soon as she can play with teammates who recognize her skills all her numbers will go up. Reese is not athletic. She has bulk, some rudimentary skills, can box out effectively and works hard getting her own rebounds. She’s a banger.

Regarding Caitlin’s assist to Lexie Hull at the end of the video, defender on CC have to stay on Clark because if she back down to help, Caitlin would be open at her position for a 3. She pushes and many wnba teams are gonna have a hard time keeping up if Indiana gets in shape enough to keep up that style of play. Not only is CC fast though, she's a floor general. For a 22 year old she can slice and dice a defense pretty damn well. She made the Liberty defense look like the Fever's defense 😂😂. On a routine game getting subbed in & out by Coach Sides, Caitlin cannot even make a .Double-Double'. But, if she & the team are tasked to play for 'play-off' viability, then she could gain 4-5 more 'triple-doubles' while CC is in 'Wonder-Woman-Mode'. Wonder-Woman-Mode causes her to become the needed 'floor general' who is in a one-way lane to 'out-score' the other team. NOTE: So, only the infinite wisdom of 'grifter coach' Sides can stand in the way of Wonder-Woman's MO. NOTE" NYC is not in their element when forced to play defense on a fast-moving transition generated from WW's MO.
