In the late 70s the NBA was on the verge of BK. The league was washed up, and hundreds of veteran players had to suck it up when two very young, electric, ingenious college studs came into the league and changed its fortunes entirely, and quickly became the faces of the new much improved NBA. I think Wilson did this deal because she's benign, clean cut, natural, no tattoos, and does not have a brash all me attitude. She's well grounded which is good for Wilson Marketing.

They did the same deal with only one other player apparently- named Michael Jordan. I think Wilson is more interested in people who can uplift an entire league.

@@rocketfighter8 Just answered it.. Gotta make way for the new generation. If I was in the league I wouldn’t have any envy over her getting endorsements, why would I. So let me put it into my own perspective.. I don’t envy others. I’ve had others gotten ranks and promotion over me in my job that I thought I deserved but I still supported them. I am sure she earned everything she’s getting by working hard for it.. Had this been your daughter you would be enjoying all the praise that comes with it you wouldn’t be worried about what veterans in the league thinks and that’s a Fact…
