Just by chance I saw a snippet on TT where the girls were asking him if they should refer to him as Dad anymore because they were trying make him feel comfortable. He said, I will always be your Dad. Caitlyn is transgender, but not transcrazy, and I can respect that.

It is ridiculous that this can happen. He may be following the rules but how does it feel for him to win when he knows that he has the obvious advantage. It would feel like a hollow victory for me. How is it the other way around? What about when trans men compete with biological men. Is there not then an obvious disadvantage? Is nobody saying anything about that. I would suggest a special league for trans women and another one for trans men. But there are so few of them that this would not be worth it. I really don't know what the answer is but what happened here is just madness.

For me there is a fundamental question here. Lia has been on T blockers for only a year. Does that one year of being on T blockers negate the 20+ years of the effects of higher T levels on a developing human body? I think the answer to that question is a resounding NO. This person had the advantage of male testosterone levels for the majority of their life, while their body was developing and growing. Higher T levels during those developing years resulted in higher muscle mass, higher bone and muscle density, larger heart and lungs, and numerous other biological advantages that are NOT negated by one year of testosterone blockers. To me it is absolutely ridiculous. And as a biological male, my conscience would never allow me to compete in this manner against female athletes that have trained all their lives without such an advantage.

I’m a woman and I don’t feel that way at all. This conversation is about fairness in sports, not womanhood. Caitlyn Jenner was a woman from day one, and is just as deserving “woman of the year” as a cis woman. She inspired so many other women to be their true selves. My old boss and friend is trans, and I’m not. She inspired me to be a better woman because she IS one. Did she out lift and out run me? Absolutely, but it wasn’t a competition. Sports is a competition, womanhood is not.
