The beauty of this strong woman character is that the author wrote Jamie to be a man who encourages her strength and power. That always seems to get overlooked. They work so well together because jamie believes in Claire.

Agreed. That trust and belief is the core of their relationship; it gives their mutual love its unbreakable strength. I know I need to be patient, it's only just the start of Season 3, but it's painful watching right now, especially the Jamie sequences. After all he's been through, Jamie is so lost without Claire. So poignant last night watching him hold his sister's newborn, you knew he was thinking of his own child with Claire.

I agree. All his questions are about how gorgeous he is and what's under his kilt. During an interview someone asked if it bothered him and he said it didn't but it crossed his mind that no one would ever ask a woman that but it doesn't bother him, which means it kinda does 😂😂😂

Honestly, I just think...why do they always have to ask the same dumb questions! You're right. It was going well and then they ask a dumb question which in general has been asked hundreds of times. I hate the view and never watch it. And I feel especially sorry for Sam because he is a kind & gentle person and also shy by all accounts and I can see this all makes him kind of uncomfortable. I'll bet if it weren't part of the deal he'd love to not have to do th these anymore...at least like this. I saw him in an early interview in 2014 with very intelligent questions and an excellent back and forth and he was very relaxed and really went in depth about acting etc. I really think he is such a nice person, again by all accounts of those who know him personally. I hope fame does not change him. Anyway...just my thoughts. LOVE outlander!

Yeah... I too notice Sam does often have a kind of deer-in-the-headlights look in many of these interviews... this whole 24-7 promotion process must be overwhelming for the cast but particularly for him. I'd love to see the 2014 interview you mention where he's more relaxed and expansive. Is it a broadcast I might find a clip of here?

Indiegirl007 Pray tell, what do you hate about Claire and Jamie? They're intentionally relatable characters.
@Indiegirl007
@Indiegirl007 6 жыл бұрын
Lysergic Casserole - I....hate everything about them. Simply because they're not relateable, lol. Though, I kinda hate Claire more than Jamie. Jamie can't help but to be written as a caricature of what 'The perfect man', is. But Claire just......makes me itch. She's pushy. And arrogant. And though she is intelligent, she likes to force her intelligence off on to people. She thinks being bossy somehow translates into being independant, and having an opinion totally equals in to being meddlesome. She's selfish, and enjoys bending the rules for herself, but for anyone else, its a grave No-No. She is a SJW's definition of what a strong independant woman is, when they have NO clue on the definition. Being strong does not mean, alienating everyone around you. Plus, I really dislike how she treats Frank when she returns home. I just....can't stand her. :-/ But I watch the show anyway because, OMG costumes and Scotland.

Indiegirl007, I actually agree with you, although, I don't personally hate their characters, I do see a disconnect with their ability to relate with the average person and I also find their love affair too good to be true, but then again, it's Hollywood. That being said, I favor Jamie's character over Claire's for the very reasons you mentioned (i.e. her arrogance, selfishness, etc). Like you, I'm drawn to the show for the set locations, cinematography and all the historical culture. Recently, I watched "Poldark," and I felt that the characters of "Ross & Demelza" were much more relatable to me then that of "Jamie & Claire's" characters, which made Poldark much more appealing and very enjoyable to watch- not to mention, the breath-taking scenery which is beyond captivating, coming from someone who lived on the beach in Hawaii for several years. "The Outlander" & "Poldark" are very well written stories filmed in spectaculaor locations. I'll continue to watch them both until their final finales.

Nashelie Sanchez Are you a child or an under aged teen? If you're an adult, then what are you afraid is going to happen to you by watching it? I get that many parents don't watch mature content shows because their kids are sometimes still running around the house and they dont want them seeing things like that, but if you're alone or with your significant other, I don't see the problem.

why women try to be a men ? We can do many things but we need the men too. Whoopi doesn't need a men or no men wants her. I don't like movies when a women acting like a men and men acting like a women or a child. Deep down we all want a men in our life tha Jamie Fraiser .

I'm sure that you think that you made a cogent point, but allow me to point out that you didn't. If English isn't your 1st language then I missed something in translation. You're sick of or don't like strong women or women with power or authority? Really? "Like damn."

Ell Dee quit your damn crying, as you pointed out and capitalized DID as in past tense. The only way to move forward is stop living in the past and people like whoppi goldburg saying how happy she is to have a strong female role as though it's something NEW! Has no one seen greys anatomy? Scandle? Fuller house? Drop dead Diva? The View! Strong women are everywhere, everyday, in every walks of life! I'm sick of the damn complaining! How about we stop being petty and worry about something important, like sex trafficking that's going on right here in the US and generates a profit of 32 billion a year! That's a form of slavery! But we live in the past of women rights (that we fucking have) and African Americans being held in slavery 150 years Ago! She and people like you are creating a problem, where there is no problem! These people are making millions of dollars while they look down on us little people and make us feel like there are all these problems that are up to us to fix!

Look cupcake, YOU came to this site to make some complaint & YOU didn't make your complaint in any language recognizable by English-speaking people over the age of 13. I wasn't whining OR crying, just pointing out that what you wrote in the public comment section for THIS INTERVIEW made zero sense. Now, seeing your reply, I feel scared for the people around you & worry about you having sharp objects nearby. Sex trafficking? Slavery? SMDH. What does that have to do with Outlander Season 3? In the future, edit your posts for spelling & grammar & perhaps you ought to consider preparing an outline of what you want to say BEFORE your fingers start typing your mental diarrhea. Extrapolating any meaning from your ill-informed & ignorant point of view shouldn't be the job of the reader, it's YOUR responsibility to make your position clear & you failed. No doubt we've come a long way, baby. But to say "She and people like you are creating a problem, where there is no problem!" is idiotic. (First - who is SHE & to what problem are you referring - & again - what does THAT have to do WITH THIS VIDEO?) If you're talking about women in the workplace & if you're saying that there IS NO PROBLEM, it just exposes a glaring & gaping hole in your knowledge or life experiences. Have you ever been paid less than the man that YOU trained, where YOU had a higher degree of education & experience & more time in the company? Have any of your male bosses pinched you in the ass or told you to walk slower because they liked to watch you move? Has any professor ever asked you to his office after class for uncomfortably close consultations? Has a person in authority ever grabbed your pussy? If this hasn't happened to you, that's great but kindly STFU about there being NO PROBLEM existing even though we have come a long way. You have a point of view that I determine to be ill-considered & ignorant of any struggle women have ever had to face & are STILL facing. You deny that any struggle exists - never mind that it continues. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean that others aren't currently experiencing or have experienced many subtle & overt types of misogyny. My grandmother & great aunts & my mother & her sisters & friends worked hard for what you take for granted. You're welcome. Finally, I feel half bad for typing this way to you. I should support you rather than point out your faults. But you really have a lot to learn. It's telling that ALL your examples of strong women come in fictional form. From television shows & not from books. From FICTION & not from real life. And God knows why you added the bit about what people earn - what did you say? "These people are making millions of dollars while they look down on us little people and make us feel like there are all these problems that are up to us to fix!" WTF? It's telling that you feel that people are looking down on "US" (speak for yourself, hon) when that is just a window into a really dark place in YOUR psyche & I'm not equipped to offer you any advice other than to suggest you 'seek therapy.' It's telling that you actually edited your post & it still came out the incoherent rant that it is. I suggest Strunk & White's. I sincerely hope that you're paid what you're worth at work. I hope that your professors & bosses treat you with respect & not as an object & I hope that if you have daughters that they don't have to put up with a mother telling them that their very real problems are of no concern to you.

Ell Dee you would argue with me if I told you the sky was blue. You replied to my comment, you started this conversation, you put yourself in this situation! My point from the beginning was that even something as simple as advertising for outlander season 3 turned into women rights. And why does it always have to be this way? Why can't we just support people, why does it have to be one or the other. It being men or women, black or white! Not sure if you ignored or want to push it under the rug but sex trafficking is very real! And is a lot more serious then women parading around with vaginas on their head! You trying to act superior on the god damn internet where everyone is so tuff and so brave hiding behind a damn screen, hoping that someone gives a damn about you and your opinion, well the don't! You can call me names, talk to me as though I'm a child, degrade me, but the truth is this is a form of bullying. You think your so smart and so great but your message is slandered by your tone, your words, and attitude. You literally started a petty ass argument over grammar! You went looking for a fight! You do know that if you see a comment you don't have to respond? Your actions are those of a child, trying to have the last word!
