I love this. brings back beautiful memories. I never could say it along with them, but I loved hearing the old people lead the rosary French.

Oh God bless you for this! Tears come to my eyes to have found this! I am of cajun & creole descent, first born out of the great state of Louisiana. Paw-paw (eternal rest grant onto him oh Lord) used to get up around 5am to play along with a similar rosary, maybe the same one, and then one in English. Whenever we were visiting I'd get up earlier for the later. This is a real blessing to me!

Thank you for this video! I’m from Lafayette and grew up hearing the rosary in French. Sadly I only learned it in English. I moved out of state and still, decades later, I get so homesick! This is a comfort. And I’m enjoying learning to say my rosary in French now.

Taking away the Cajun Rosary was like taking away the Louisiana Rosary on that TV station in Baton Rouge; it gave it a distinctly Louisiana flavor, IMNSHO, Radio Maria took a turn for the worse when Fr. Duane passed away.

xjackiex Excuse me? My ancestors come from Northwestern, and Southwestern France as well as South Germany and Scandinavia. I'm following in the footsteps of those who went before me, there is nothing wrong with that.

How can you be cajun and not be catholic? It's like the rule of being cajun. You have to eat alligator and loggerhead turtle and you have to have 9 to 15 children and live in an acadian house with the 45 degree roof and go fishing in a pirogue. And have giant cypress trees in your yard for shade. And have a gumbo for supper 4 nights a week.

@@tylerpape4382 I hope n pray you become Catholic (pre-Vatican II) long before you and yours pass into eternity. The Roman Catholic Church is the only church which can trace its beginning back to Jesus Christ Himself; Vatican II was a revolution in the Church. A Masonic Pope was installed in 1958 under the name of John XXIII; each pope since then has no authority to rule bc they have not followed nor displayed any Catholic Faith. They have permitted false doctrines to be taught and a Masonic liturgy to replace the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass . “By their fruits you shall know them.”

In the Notre Père, are they saying “que votre règne arrivée “? I can’t catch the word after regne. Thanks
@bsb71815 жыл бұрын
Clint Broussard yes. It's not "arrivée" as in the past tense, it's in the present tense. As we would say in English, "Thy kingdom come," it's "que Votre règne arrive." Present tense. Ain't this so rich?!
@NovemberSong28th11 жыл бұрын
Are y'all the same folks who used to do this on Radio Maria? I really think that was a wrong move of R.M, getting rid of the Cajun Rosary.

Is Cajun related to or is it Creole?
@tylerpape43828 жыл бұрын
They are related but they're two different accents, you have the Cajun way to say things in Louisiana French and the Creole way to say things in Louisiana French.
@donnalynn13138 жыл бұрын
This is Cajun....I am from a small town in the deep south of Louisiana.I live in Vermilion Parish. We are Cajun and speak Cajun French. Creole is more toward the New Orleans area
@tylerpape43828 жыл бұрын
Donna Lynn When my family lived in New Orleans we heard both Cajun and Creole French from our neighbors and friends, we never did learn the Creole accent though.
@donnalynn13138 жыл бұрын
so do you speak French now? I speak Cajun French well. Sad to say that our native language is dying very fast. Although with more and more young musicians coming around, there may be some hope
@tylerpape43828 жыл бұрын
Donna Lynn I'm not fluent, not by far, and after moving to Texas we're guilty of forgetting our roots too. I plan on moving to Lafayette within the next 4-6 years, maybe I'll pick it up again.
