Had this apart in about 2 minutes. Having done ufo last week, I decided on a gravity approach and just spun the pieces while holding the opening downwards. I could feel it lined up and give a little, but soon as I touched it they fell out before I could see how things were lined up, so I needed this video for reassembling. You are definitely my go to for help, you have the best videos on these.

This can also be solved in similar fashion by working the layers counter clockwise and pulling the top layer through the smaller gap. Great video and great photo aligning all four pieces into a square! This puzzle is so elegant.

Thank you for this puzzle solution! I gave up, maybe too quick, your video was the clearest of all Cast Cake video solutions! Thanks a lot too for your written instructions !

Fun fact: Bram Cohen, who designed this puzzle, is also the genius who created BitTorrent. He's currently working on Chia Network, a new blockchain solution.

i think I've heard that before. It's a good fact!

I put a little WD-40 in this one and it helped the pieces move much better. Thanks Ross.

It is a cranky little puzzle that needs lubrication. It’s the jankiest puzzle Hanayama has ever made! 👍

Thank you for the instructional video. I found this one difficult to manipulate and my hands got very sore trying to fidget with it.

This is my least favorite puzzle out of the 30 Hanayamas I have. Thanks for the solution though. First time I've looked up a solution for one. I played with it for about 5 minutes, had a close idea of how to solve it, but the movement was so annoying I didn't want to keep messing with it. I needed a tool to move the pieces, which in my opinion defeats the joy of a Hanayama

Very poor tolerances and build quality on this puzzle, a solved puzzle should come apart cleanly you shouldn't have to jiggle Giggle and tug to get it aligned
