He's not rushing, you've just never heard of the song before/ forgot about the tempo of the original version/ aren't that familiar with it. And to answer your question, Cakra as well as most Indonesians can speak English but only to a certain level 'cause we learn the language in school but never really use it in our daily lives. And to be fairly honest, as the oldest guy reacting to the performance you sure sound so damn sassy!

Out of more than 100 reactions to both this song and to "It`s a man`s world", that guy to the left is the only one who has ever mentioned Cakra is rushing it.. So through both of these songs, that`s the only thing you guys talk about. Sorry, guys, he ain`t rushing anything. His singing style is his choice, and he phrases his words this way. You have back-phrasing, that means a delay in the word, and front-phrasing, which means he is just a bit ahead sometimes. It`s his style of choice. Thank you for reacting to Cakra anyway 👍

I don't think you realize that the covers cakra does he does it with his own style. He's not singing karaoke. I think I speak for most people that this version blows the original out the water.

English is his 3rd language, as most of us in Indonesia. Our first and second language are Local language and Bahasa Indonesia.

First things first, if you've never heard of Hozier, I personally believe him to be one of the most skilled singers in the industry. You should really give "Movement - Live at the Current" a listen. I find good live performances to be so few and far in between but that one is pretty much perfect. Now, second being perfectly on beat isn't always what singers are going for. This isn't rap or pop where staying perfectly on beat is always a good thing (and even in rap a lot of people will throw in parts at a different tempo than the beat.) It's soul music, a blend of old school rock and the kind of soul that the greats like Nina Simone and Mavis Staples sang about. Rasp isn't a long-term sustainably healthy option for most singers, but god damn does it add soul. And because of this, we've learned to view this technically "Incorrect" singing technique as a good thing. Same thing with changing the tempo a bit from the original. It doesn't show a lack of skill, it's actually harder to do what he does in a skillful way.

Having different opinion is good and thank you for stating yours. He is Indonesian and people speak multilanguage in Indonesia. We speak minimum 2 languages. And English is not our 2nd language. Cakra speaks English very well on this song in my opinion. And by far this is one of the best covers of take me the church. So much emotion and he has a unique beautiful voice. He sings as if he is telling a story, in his own way. I didnt find it too fast nor it is off music.

You're right English is not his native language. He speaks Indonesian (obviously) and Sundanese (this is one of the regional/ethnic language in Indonesia, we have over 700 of ethnic languages/dialects). So English would be his 3rd language??

hello... there are still many songs that cakra khan sings that you haven't heard and seen, such as the show much go on (Queen), skyscraper etc. and most recently with David Barton (singing in place of david) 'sorry seems to be the hardest word' (Elton John). By chance, Cakra and his friends were traveling to the UK. David and Chakra have been friends for a long time. and I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy watching your KZfaq.

Cakra Khan is from Garut, West Java so his first language is Sundanese, the second is Bahasa Indonesia as national language, and English is his 3rd language because every student in Indonesia from junior to senior high school learn English in school.
