hello i have a problem about this stuff ... a cylinder that’s 2 inches x 6 inches at 1000 psi reads - P x V / atm .. to find the volume of compressed air.. which is 1000 (psi) x 18.85 (volume ) / 14.7 (atmosphere ) = 1281 Cu .. excellent ... but now change the 1000 psi to 10 psi - 10 psi x 18.85Cu / 14.7 atm = 12.823 Cu ?? how can there be less air in the cylinder (12.823 Cu) under 10 psi than the cylinders initial volume of 18.85 Cu ?

If we consider diameter of piston. Then we have to calculate area and then multiply divide with force?

But we know that pressure it is not created by the pump... why did you added that pump ?

Sorry to be pedantic but, you say 'it doesn't matter where the piston is, it's always going to be 100psi'. This doesn't sound right to me. Not only would the pressure change as the piston moved up and down the cylinder but the gauge pressure would change depending on the position of the gauge due to pressure at depth. Perhaps you meant this change would be slight and therefore negligent?
