Quick update: 10 + 0 ≠ 0...... 10 + 0 = 10. Math is hard.

Thats because the first equations factor is 0 because 10+0 is not equal to 0 wich is why it had that sign so the formula is saying 10+0 is not equalivant to 0. But the second equation had a regualar = sign because 10+0's factor is equivalent to 10. Im only 11 bruh.

Even when dealing with 10-digit numbers, the solution is straightforward. Simply multiply the last digits of each number and compare the result with last digit of 13467982, which is '2'. For example, take the numbers 221, 932, and 563. Multiplying their last digits (1, 2, 3) gives 6. The overall multiplication of these three numbers also ends with 6. P.S: I'm a high schooler who hates maths, this trick is easier for people to catch onto you

Right the way I noticed there was something wrong. When you press Multiply in calculator your numbers not supposed to change to zero, it stays the same until you enter the new number you multiplying for.

The problem is if your audience or friend is maths savvy then they may realise that multiplying the 3 given numbers don't multiply to give the predicted result. For example 123 x 456x 789 does not equal 13 467 982 it equals 44 253 432. That's not even close.

But if the factors are sufficiently big (you can actually add a number to the sum too) no one will bother to do the maths in their head, since most will assume calculators are always right, and will not realise there is a setup. I guess just don't do it on maths nerds 🤷♂️

@@scptime1188 Even if you ask 10 digit numbers, it's easy to figure out. Just multiple the last digits of all number, And then match it with the Oneth position of the 13467982. Here '2' Like 221, 932, 563 Multiplication of 1,2,3 is 6. And the real multiplication of those 3 numbers also ends with 6

i don't understand what is the problem, i follow your instructions , first input the desired results, second press PLUS sign and Press Number zero and press the multiplication sign and press 0, and i start to press any 2 digits , it didn't work

Just saw this trick last night at a show. It was well done and led to a great reveal at the end, but the magicians specifically asked for an iPhone from the audience. I use Android, and see that Android's calculator "shows the work" (most recent numbers and operators are on the screen), so makes sense why iPhone was requested.

The Magiculator app allows you to perform this magic trick without the risk of messing up and getting bullied in front of your audience. Your secret can be revealed exactly when you want it to. I always set the app to reveal the secret number after the second time the user presses the equal button I first ask them to check the calculator once they are assured that the calculator is a normal calculator, then I pull the trick ;)

What if they give you like 5, 3, and 2, which can be easily multiplied in your head to equal 30, not 13467982? The trick doesn’t work if people can multiply it already

That's why you ask: Person 1: " please choose a three digit number." Person 2: " Please choose a three digit number." Person 3: " Please choose a 2 digit number." There, no you can do it without having the spectators do it in their head unless they are Albert Eisenstein.

The math is very simple Let 1234 be our desired output and Three random numbers be 145 234 567 1234+0*0*145*234*567 Now according to BODMAS rule First multiplication is done then addition Hence after multiplication 1234+0 = 1234

Put even numbers first, then put in odd numbers: 2468, 13579. Remember they are odd and even. Now subtract, it has a explanatory answer. As 2 is even, and 3 is odd. 1 is neither, so your answer is 1111111111.

I'm guessing you have an Android? It does not work on the default Android calculator since it lets you put in the hole expression and then evaluates it when you press equal, for normal everyday use it has the advantage that if you for example add up a couple of numbers, you can easily go and change any of the numbers and it also allows you to have a list of expressions you evaluated but it also makes this trick impossible

You had better hope that your audience doesn't choose numbers that he can easily calculate himself - like 001, 002, 003. In that case, 1x2x3 = 006, which is radicaally different from 13,465,982
