2 жыл бұрынKolkata nostalgia from 17 years ago! A montage made for screening at the Royal Geographical Society, London when Krishna Dutta's book on the city was being launched there. I am grateful for the invaluable and tireless assistance of my cousin Amitava Bagchi. Huge thanks also to my friend Unmesh Kirtikar who helped me secure the permissions to film in the metro rail stations which are tightly protected (and with good reason).

I saw this montage first on fb and now on YT. People becoming nostalgic how the city hasn’t changed much from that time. Indeed. Apart from the attitude of the people, nothing has changed. Also, my pristine Kolkata, greener Kolkata. Be it AJC Bose Road flyover, Infinity think tank or the vessels over the Ganges. Nothing! Even the voice of Madhumanti Moitra in Metro PAS can still be found in non Medha AC rakes. The then LF Govt. stayed maximum for 7 more years from then but we get to see those things. People have changed. People were aware of their surroundings, they were smart. I wish, I get back my Kolkata!
