Quinn Hughes reached 200 assists quicker than any other D-man in NHL history. Quinn Hughes becomes the third defenceman ever to record 200 assists over a 3 season span (Orr, Coffey) Makar is great, of that there is no doubt. Quinn Hughes is as good as or better than Makar.

Offensively, yes. The only thing is Hughes can't defend at the same level Makar can simply due to his lack of size
