Here it is! Today we are talking about QB1, Caleb Williams. Williams has a ton of skills that should translate to the NFL, but he isn't a perfect prospect.

You're making me want the Bears to get Caleb. Way to showcase the arm strength and accuracy!
@tonytoledo62514 ай бұрын
I hope he's good not just because he's going to be the quarterback for the Bears, but because of the pressure he's going to experience. His success will never be judged individually, but rather his legacy will forever be tied to Fields, Stroud, Young, Richardson, Levis, Daniels, Maye, McCarthy, and Bagent. The Bears chose Williams over all of them and he has to outplay all of them.

21:15 , for some context I don’t know how you don’t see this, #15 the wr was running a slant and last second decides to cut behind the db to go deep, Caleb thought he would still be running the slant so he threw it but the wr wasn’t there and the db got an easy pick, if Caleb would of waited 1 more second he could of realized his wr was changing his route to run deep instead of the slant but Caleb had no more time to wait because he was going to get sacked. Just a miscommunication with the qb and wr, it also got tipped so who knows if Caleb realized what his wr was doing and actually trying to throw it deep for #15 there but it got tipped and ended up short

Let's remember to that they're saying he has generational talent, not that he's definitively going to be generational. There's a difference. From what I've seen though his skill set is ridiculous. Why the whole "Caleb is the same QB as Justin, just smaller and less athletic" narrative by some people because of the average time to throw stat, mostly by JF1 fans, is ridiculous. They are even different when they scramble. Caleb has a much quicker release and there are plenty of examples of him getting it out quick and on time as shown in this video. Only real similarity to JF1 is the fumbling issue.
@gregspauldini31394 ай бұрын
Yeah they're not similar at all. Williams is superior in everything he does other than running around and yet he's still great on the run. I just don't get the desire to keep Fields by Bears fans. It's almost like they just don't want change for change sake. And if they keep Fields they'll have to pay him a ton of money which they instead can use on a couple free agents. They have a bunch to spend if they move on from him. @@jroe25yt8

Am I crazy for thinking that the throw at 20:25 would have been caught for a big gain had the lineman not batted it down? Or at least an incomplete pass. Looks to me like the receiver is cutting up the field and the db jumps under. Maybe caleb misses the receiver to the left in that case but I don't think it was a bad decision.

I don't know... I still feel that we have a Franchise QB. I absolutely HATE the fact that Fields had to suffer and endure 3 straight years of having, LITERALLY, the worst O-line in the NFL (graded as the worst for his first 2 season, got better midway through last year.), and nobody to throw to, and now he is gonna get thrown away for "the next big thing". And I have heard or read every argument for taking Williams/trading Justin... I STILL believe Justin would be great with a better Offensive Line and more than 1 competent Wide Receiver to throw to. And it's all right there for the Bears in this Draft! Marvin Harrison Jr and either Joe Alt of Fashanu from Penn St. Or, if they wanted to, the Bears could trade back a couple of times and receive a haul of future picks for the ages. Just the thought of getting back the number of 1st and 2nd round picks that Peter King mentions in his article makes me think of the possibilities for the future! Anyway, even though it looks kjle they are gonna trade JF1, I am still holding out hope that they don't

It's totally possible that Brock Bowers is best available at #9 and at that point Poles not only should most definitely consider it as a real possibility but more than likely is already aware of this AND is comfortable with that possibility because he's most definitely a best available type of GM. I think Bowers could honestly be another option as a slot WR on occasion as well and if Poles and Waldron can envision Bowers being a player that's out there for 70% or more of the total offensive plays ran in a way that truly makes the offense better then they need to strongly consider drafting Bowers at #9. If not then Odunze from Wash. but I'm thinking they need to trade back and get some more picks and then draft WR#2 from LSU Brian Thomas Jr who can be that guy to take the top off of a defense with a 4.33 40 yd dash time plus the added pick(s) they would get from trading back at #9. If you have the time & initiative this off-season & want to get ahead of everyone else, I have a fun suggestion for you: make a mostly split-screen video featuring what Caleb does really well in college & what Fields has done in the NFL. You're *going to find* footage of Fields doing in the NFL what Caleb has done in college. I know because *I've* already found it all. Ability to fling the ball 50+ air yards with a flick of the wrist, accurately? Check. On the run & at weird arm angles? Check-check. Able to scramble life into dead plays? Of _course!_ The one area we might have more footage of Fields doing is threading impossible passes through tight windows. The questions would be surrounding what such a video would show. It would be a mistake to focus only on play-calling. It would be one to ignore it. Caleb's going to the same team. You either have to believe that Eberflus is So Inept he didn't notice that Getsy had cancelled the QB rushes that made them the #1 offense 3 weeks straight or that He Himself cancelled them. (Since he brags in post-game press talks about deciding what plays to limit the offense to, that seems to fit with what's likelier). The play you're analyzing at 9.30 is a Perfect Example of why this is so important. "He waits & waits because he doesn't see what he likes." Gee, isn't one of the biggest Fields criticisms that he hangs onto the ball too much? So the same tendency on the same team. Beyond that I don't want to say much. I hope you think this is a good idea because it can help grow your channel. Pointing out _any_ similarity between the two is gonna upset people. Pointing out that they are basically the same skill set & within a half-tier of each other is gonna piss people off to an extent they will Lose Their Minds. But it'll get the attention of many people & other channels, especially if 1) Caleb has any of the same problems Fields did &/or 2) Fields gets to start & the things that were a problem on the Bears don't show up elsewhere even though he himself changes nothing. Those are just SOME of the reasons why such a video could be worth doing.

Caleb will be walking into a situation with a good defense, and improving o-line, and at least a few weapons in Moore and Kmet. Penix still QB1 to me. Then JD, CW, Nix, Rattler. Maye is vastly overrated to me and I still love Caleb but there are huge red flags you’re missing. Caleb doesn’t elevate the players around him, in fact because of his hero ball play style they receive all the blame for his lack of winning. Yeah he doesn’t throw many picks but he’s breaking records with fumbles with 30 career. That’s insane and makes me wonder if he’ll ever learn to play QB the right way. He’s all hero ball all the time with flashes of sitting in the pocket and dealing. Idk about you but I’ve seen whole games that aren’t ND where he’s scrambling from clean pockets almost all game long. This makes his O-lines job harder, and it takes away from his WR development because they’re playing scramble drills all game long. Penix had 3 WR that never even eclipsed 500 yds and 5 TD in a season and the moment Penix shows up, they’re the greatest show on turf with a sure fire top 20, and fringe 1st rounder/2nd rounder. You could argue McMillan late first had he been healthy too. Point being Caleb’s play style is like how some characterize him, selfish. He looks great to many on film but beneath the numbers it doesn’t win big games, and it makes excuses for its play, while throwing his teammates under the bus.
