The Calgary, Alberta, Canada C-Train in 1993.
Sourced from SVHS video footage this film mostly comprises forward looking views on the route to Anderson, which when this was filmed was a terminus station. Most (not all) intermediate stations are seen - some twice!
During the journey we pass a freight train on an adjacent track.
Whilst in Calgary it was my good fortune to chance upon one of the experimental three-phase AC traction trainsets and this film includes No.3001 - both as seen from a station platform and a ride inside, so that its unique sounds can be heard.

Really nice footage. I remember riding the Ctrain when I was in high school (there was no school bus). Too bad there is no footage of Chinook station in its original form. They have totally rebuild the station, and for some reason I can't seem to find any photos of the old station online. Still, great video. Love those U2s, hopefully they save at least 1.

Thanks for watching and commenting, and apologies about Chinook. I went to school by train (here in London) - it was much better than relying on a school bus ... I got to explore other routes which were not always the most direct between home and school (a little... erm, thats all I'll admit in public!!) and it made me more independent as a person

The 2 AC U2 C-Trains were originally numbered 3001 and 3002 and later renumbered to 2101 and 2102. 3001/2101 still exists as a line inspection train called Scout and 3002/2102 has been scrapped for parts to keep Scout functioning.

Haven't seen you uploading videos for few months but nice to see you back. A good selection of trams, buses, trains and of course freight trains in The Calgary. Is it a city or is it part of Alberta that Alberta is a city in Canada.

Thanks, Calgary is a city in the Canadian Province of Alberta. During the very hot weather and long evenings I was spending a lot more time outdoors, including watering the garden - tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, etc - most of which are in pots so needed watering at least once (if not twice) daily. Also, my computer was running so hot that I was concerned that it might overheat. As autumn approaches I hope to be able to increase the pace of my film making, and spend more time updating of my website.

oh! and I'd thought Edmonton was home to Alberta's stretch of running underground
@CitytransportInfoplus

Yes - in Calgary the tunnels are shorter, more like underpasses and from what I remember all stations in Calgary are above ground (unlike Edmonton) Calgary is planning a section of underground through the city centre as it could then run 5 unit trains - these will be too long for the stations on the 7th Avenue Transit Mall

ah, okay...like the trunk overpass closer to London's Richmond station than to its Kew Gardens one

why did this skip Chinook? I was looking forward to seeing old Chinook station before it got completely redone in 2013 :(
