I'm not a fan of bits, or people who beat the shit out of their horses to win. But seeing her stop everything when Baby Flo fell and decided to pet her and walk her off instead of trying to run her more, or kicking yelling throwing her helmet, THAT is a true rider. The horse ALWAYS comes first I don't care If I have to lose every competition.

lilkittyanime I agree! But my horse requires a bit because how hot she gets
@lilkittyanime7 жыл бұрын
Hali Rice I agree every horse is different in training, riding, disipline etc. I will always no matter what horse I get I will always ride is halter, and bitless bridle. And as for your horse I do not doubt you are keeping the horse's best interest in mind. Have soft hand, have effective ground work so the lightest tilt of the reins the horse understands so you don't have to be pulling the horse's head to your thigh. Any horse no matter what you use, if you use the tack poorly, the horse will always get hurt, in halter or bit. Good luck to you and your beautiful horse. ^__^

Yes! that gave a like but the rest seemed... abusive
@SmolBean986 жыл бұрын
I agree and wish everyone took care of their horses the same way she did. Home town barrel racers are complete hell in barrel racing. By anyways ALWAYS care for the horse before the sport, ribbons, and yourself. Without the horse the riders would be nothing in these sports. I had a few falls with my mustang ( yes I run barrels with a mustang ) I personally would've gotten off and checked him up myself real fast and walk/ lead him back to the vets. I cant rise my horses knowing they possibly hurt themselves. But still props to her!

wannabe pictureperfect , some barrel racers can be abusive but these pros aren't abusive whatsoever.

The people who force their horse to keep running after falling are horrible. I hate it when people do that. The first lady was very respectful of her horse and stopped. THAT right there is a true rider and horse lover.

You guys are just cry babies. Horses are naturally lovable. If Their rider does something they might not like, they dont hold grudges like you.

CayleeAndHaley1234 yeah Fallon loves her horses. I am the same i don't race then if they fall
@kym07716 жыл бұрын
Lela Biekert The problem is, people, probably people like you, want to do these things for the money, not for the love of their horses or trying to get them better.
@lela47806 жыл бұрын
Excuse me! I was not saying anything about money. I barrel race because i like it. My horse hates it. But if hes not feeling it we dont race. Got it

I've got a small question,has anyone seen a barrel horse calmly or fairly calmly walk into the arena?
@Bethresh7 жыл бұрын
I see it all the time. My horses love to barrel race and can't wait to go in, but I make them stay calm until we are in the alley. If they don't love it, they won't be good. Also, when you see "whipping", they are just being tapped, and in my case, they aren't even touched with the crop. I just wave it close to their butt.

Is this AQHA only ?
@bonnieandehsan5 жыл бұрын
Nope, but it's invitation only. In general barrel racing events are open to any breed. I've seen huge Belgian horses come to the games day type barrel races where everyone is there to practice or just have fun. But when you get up to the high level/professional level, then you have to qualify to race. AQHA tend to do well because of how they are bred and built, but people also run lots of Appendix and some Appies. Depends on the horse, but athletic, turny as gritty as hell help a lot!

I don't believe in Whipping the horse ... its proven that it actually distracts the horse. Hats off to the women that don't Whip their horse 🙏🙏💞💞
@kendylthompson9227 жыл бұрын
How come the riders where kicking their horses so hard? And where the riders whipping the horses when they ran back "home" I wouldn't know because I do hunter jumping
@sierrajade45877 жыл бұрын
Kendyl Thompson A lot of times, it looks harder than it really is. When you kick big, the first thing to come back on the horse is your calf. That absorbs a lot of the impact, and your feet and spurs don't have as much force behind them. And yes, they were popping the horses with an over and under. They're most commonly made of leather, so they make quite a noise that urges the horse forward. As someone who's hit myself with mine more times then I can count, it isn't nearly as bad a it looks.
@laurakay10847 жыл бұрын
Kendyl Thompson It gets them to go faster and jump "gettyup" It's hard to explain,it would be easier to show you instead of explaining😂
@daughteroftiaran7 жыл бұрын
If you look, they're mostly "kicking" with the calves, not hard enough to really hurt the horse, more like saying "NOW! Go go go go go !"

bits and crop whipping and kicking and running a horse right in to the ground risking severe ankle injuries that would have it put down...this is clearly animal abuse.. i rode horses all my life...i thought bits and crops were horrid ...and here they are running the creatures right to the ground and wacking them when they fall !
@christinadelacroix23706 жыл бұрын
did that person just hit the horse in the head for a fall at 1:40 !!??? and the man tearing at the horse's mane and all the violent kicking and crop use ? this makes me so upset !!!
@barrelracingready45936 жыл бұрын
You may not know, but every one of these people are damaging their horses ribs by star fishing, and let’s not even talk about the bits! They all are terrible riders and need to go through the basics again.
