For a second straight week the Calgary Stampeders are on the road which is always the case during the Calgary Stampede. After a tough 30-26 loss in Montreal last week the Calgary Stampeders are looking for their first road win of 2024 in a hostile environment being the now named Princess Auto Stadium. Calgary Stampeders are 2-2 coming into this game but both wins we're at home.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers who are 1-4 coming into this game did pick up their first win of the 2024 CFL Regular Season with at 25-16 win over the Ottawa RedBlacks at home are looking at potentially closing the gap in the CFL West Division with this match-up. Also potential for jockeying for season series as this will wrap up the season series between the Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the Calgary Stampeders winning their first game in overtime 22-19 a couple of weeks ago at home.
Like that said game a couple of weeks ago that needed overtime to settle it, I do feel this one will be another tough defensive struggle kind of game. Calgary will be without former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Demerio Houston as he's on the six game injured list but will at least have Dedrick Mills and Peyton Logan at running back to help. Winnipeg Blue Bombers be interesting to see how effective Zach Collaros is after he got shaken up in the game in Calgary a couple of weeks ago.
If the Calgary Stampeders can do what they did at least in the first half in Montreal a week ago where they had a 23-12 lead at halftime should be able to pull off this one and keep more pace with the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL West Division.
After this game the Calgary Stampeders will be back at home on Sunday, July 21st, 2024 as they'll be hosting the BC Lions for Legacy Night as former coach and general manager for the Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions will be on inducted on the Wall of Fame at McMahon Stadium.
