Calif. Zephyr in ft. Morgan on 15JULY2024

Күн бұрынToday's California Zephyr #5 arrived in Fort Morgan at 0859 MDT (3 hrs. & 14 min. late due to equipment issues prior to departure from Chicago as per AMTRAK's main web site). P42s #146 & #194 provided the power to the 8-car train which was stopped for a two-car single spot passenger call with one departing passenger from car 4 and one new patron to car 7. With the passenger service safely completed. the highball was given and on a clear signal into a restricted speed area the Zephyr continued its westward trek with the next stop being Union Station in Denver.
My thanks, as always, to the operating crew for the greetings today.

Good morning, Gerald; Thank you for tuning in along with the comments. Yep. They didn't mess around any today. It is 88 F and is to go higher but not triple digit range. The humidity is a bit higher and makes it a bit more uncomfortable outside. Cooler tomorrow with a chance of moisture. Have a great Monday down there. Please take care and stay safe!

Yeah Mike sounds like the zephyr rolled through a little late today. We did have a whole bad bunch of weather last night but that isn't the result. Like you said it was equipment problems. My block didn't have power for about 6 hours. But thankfully I was sort of half dozing. But yeah keep hearing that steel fabrication plant or something in the background. I appreciate you going out and taking videos of The zephyr everyday.

God evening, Robert; I thank you for tuning in along with the comments. Sad to read about the power outage back there. Seems to be a rash of that all over. I hope you didn't lose any foodstuffs from the refrig. or freezer. Mid-West Millwrights have a couple of big projects where all the steel must be epoxy painted so it all must be sandblasted prior to painting t keep the paint on it. They also party down to the music as they work in the shop. The later the Zephyr gets here, the more noise comes from across the tracks. LOL! Have a great evening. Hey Mike, Good afternoon. Just caught the video @ 1:20. Heat's all around. Already up to 94° & the humidity is only 53% at the moment. F/C the heat index will reach 111 today. T'storms knocked out my power yesterday for 2 1/2 hrs... spoiled dinner. Hope my shrimp is still good today. Take care, my friend, and stay cool in this heat. STAY SAFE.

Good afternoon, Jim; Thanks for tuning in along with the comments. It is 93 F. and baking with 18% humidity. Have some breezes to push it all around. LOL! Maybe a bit cooler today without the triple digit temps we had yesterday. Summertime on the plains of eastern Colorado. 🥵🤧😂 If the heat doesn't do it the pollen will. Hope those temps don't last back there. Sad to read you lost power from a T'storm. We had one roll thru here yesterday late afternoon that left mud balls all over the windshield of my PU. Haven't lost power here is several years. I do hope the shrimp are still good. They also make great fish bait. LOL! Please take care, stay cool, and safe back there!
