The bowling alley in Maine that was shot up was a gun free zone. Meaning no one there could lawfully carry and protect themselves from the mass shooter. California legislators signed SB 2 making almost everywhere in California a gun free zone. And if gun free zones actually worked, how did he get his gun there in the first place? Sounds like they don’t prevent guns from getting on the premises but keeps law abiding citizens from defending themselves.

Bonta can't read statistics correctly, rates per 100,000 is a terrible metric to interpret crime rates simply because of the enormous California population number, which falsely lower rates per 100,000 to make it look a lot better than it actually is. He also doesn't acknowledge that laws don't affect people (criminals) who don't obey them in the first place and adversely affect the law-abiding citizens that actually pay his salary through very high state income taxes. But he's a politician first, and politicians lie all the time.

I just read SB2 which Governor Newsom just signed into law. I am appalled by this new law. It effectively takes away my right as a law abiding gun owner and a CCW permit holded to carry a gun in California. How dare The State of California make a law telling me that my church must post a sign to make it legal for me to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights in my own church. Governor Newsom and the State of California have once again overstepped their authority with SB2. SB2 is shamefull. We the people have the right to keep and bear arms and our California State government is trying to take that right away from us. This is unacceptable! My family and I have lived in California for over 55 years. We have witnessed and continue to witness the moral decline of our state, Many of our government leaders would rather lower our community standards in order to get elected, than stand up for what is actually right. This is unacceptable! After reading SB2, I have joined the NRA and other groups to actively oppose Governor Newsom and his unconstitional and immoral laws. I will not be voting for Governor Newsom in the future and I will now be activly opposing him. Thank goodness we have the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights that protect our precious freedoms from laws like SB2 and politicians like Governor Newsom. Governor Newsom has lost my vote and my support because of SB2! "The rights of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

SB2 will prevent people possessing CCWs from being in certain areas, such as churches and synagogues to name a few. It will affect those private members of the churches tasked with security. For a CCW in CA currently, you are required in most jurisdictions to have a background check, a psychological exam, 16 hours of approved training, pay upwards of $1000 or more for the entire process, and maintain your renewal every year. Some jurisdictions may even require you to have special liability insurance. Some jurisdictions currently still require only 8 hours of training, but the State is soon making the training 16 hours Statewide I believe. CCWs are not given away willy-nilly here.

Really? I just watched a video with the sheriff of SD county, a county with a population among the largest in the country say she wasnt aware of any CCW holder that has committed a gun crime. We know this is true throughout the rest of the state. Even if there were 1 or 2 anecdotal examples, it would be a statistically insignificant number.
